The biggest takeaway from the argument - ME: I felt left out when you and Ant would riff, so the original O&A show was over.

Jim literally had no response to this. It was met with silence. "I felt left out the way you two would go on a tear. It told me that the show was over. Not for you guys, not for the audience, but for me."

Holy fucking shit.

I can't even believe this is real.

Me me, me me me me. Me?

ME: me

Basically, by how he described it, it was him that changed, not the show. But in his self-centeredness, he saw it as the show had changed.

Ant and Jim are the same manchildren they were 20 years ago.

Opie was the one who morphed into a boring married father of two.

Yes, I agree. He became boring. He couldn't relate to them anymore. It's very similar to a show I sometimes listened to nearly 20 years ago, not necessarily by choice but because it was the only decent syndicated show available in the market I lived in. It was somewhat humorous until one of the guys became a born again Christian. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it completely killed the vibe of the show and eventually ended the show.

He bottled all of this up. We could be listening to a different show completely if all of this had trickled out over the past year but trying to fit every pent up frustration etc. into one hour was just a mess. This is such a mess and right now it sounds like they just moved on and didn't really clean it up that much.

....and yet once again... we have an argument where serious shit is said that can't be unsaid.. and they just move on. This show needs an in-studio group counselor

Opie doesn't know how to communicate, unless there's crisis. Textbook dysfunction.

...but in his response to "Gregshells" he said Ant was not all in on the Jimmy addition.

Opie is a narcissistic child with the mammaries of a 67 year old. Just fucking awful. ME: ME!

Jim literally had no response to this.

Oh, I'm sure he had many responses.

So it was over 15 years ago?
