I've never understood the Sam hate. He's not Ant or Ron- but he's a solid producer and on-air personality and having him around as a shit stirrer has produced some great content over the years.
Most people actually like Sam. Him and Erock to a lesser extent were giant parts of the show. The amount of shit stirring, and pop culture faggotry Sam brought to the show was gr8.
I'll match your unpopular opinion about Sam with my unpopular opinion of liking Danny. He could be an awfully miserable cunt, but that fucker made me laugh.
Sam is really fantastic when he plays the role of that monkey/rat thing that sat with Jabba the Hutt. He is atrocious college radio when he is running things.
I hate Sam, but that's why I like him on the show. He's so opposite of Jim and Ant in terms of age and 'what he's into', that its what makes the show worth listening to. And he takes his beatings
Newer listeners might like him. When he first got air time, he was an unlikable, tattle tail, douchebag, who stirred shit. I think he was playing a hateable character, he got shows with Than/ESD (who was the star), ditched them, and it got him to the top of the totem pole. If you missed the "Heel" years, I guess you could view him as decent now......but I see an opportunist who would cut anyone's throat to succeed.
If Jim doesn't have a choice and is either fired or in some way encouraged to leave, I think he'll take a spot at TACS because it'll either be that or nothing. Plus the studio is in NY and sweet boys don't like to travel far for a steady paycheck.
Of course he has lots of choices, but he seems to like radio and he seems to like Ant and he likes staying in NY so all of those reasons would likely make TACS seem like an attractive option. Jimmy could have made the "choice" to tour outside of the US but he never did, I can see him making the move to TACS (or the network in some form) sooner or later.
I can see Jim hanging around the show from time to time more but Jim is big money is this little business we call show business. The boy has gone Hollywood as they say.
I would listen the hell out of that show. I'm not a huge Sam Roberts fan but he's a good catalyst. Hell throw ESD into the mix and have Ron Bennington make a guest appearance every now and then and it would be radio gold.
Sam's show may be dog shit but you can't deny that the dude puts a lot of work into his gigs. Sam is the producer Jim and Ant would need. His chemistry with them fucking rules.
Id like him if he did more production. All the cool radio bits left when danny and d boi were fired. At least when they were around sam did the backstage o&a to kind of compete with them. Now he does absolutely no produced bits like the nagel.
This reminds me... how has Sam been doing lately? Last I heard he got exiled to an evening slot and I have trouble remembering if he's still on the air or not.
This was essentially the lineup of great NOPIE shows. It is proven to work as long as Ant can become a normal person and drop the race/gun obsession. That started to really kill it for me, even when it was a NOPIE show. Ant and Jim riffing about their lives/typical bullshit and Sam steering and shit stirring would be worth listening to again. Steal Travis from Tits too.
Sam was always great at feeding Jim and Ant material on nopie shows and they run with it extremely well. He always gets others from the show involved... And his shit stirring and sarcasm is always much appreciated.
I don't understand how people think Anthony would have the money to pay these guys. He has to be hemorrhaging money at this point, probably down to 100 subscribers.
I honestly can't see Sam jumping ship to Ant's network as long as he has something with SiriusXM.
No disrespect to Ant but I imagine Sam's goal is to land a major WWE gig. Sticking with SiriusXM looks much better on his resume than The Anthony Cumia Network. At the end of the day it's still a podcast.
was there ever a reason given for Sam to be sent to the graveyard shift? like when it originally happened I thought they be adding something there(Soder and Big Jay or w/e) but thats never happened. I dont listen to the channel anymore but did like Sam(he's not good on his own, but he's an A+ second fiddle)
Part of me wants Jim to go to TACS because Jim and Ant are great together but also part of me fears it would suck. TACS is already shit, the staff sucks and the format of the show is awful. IMO, the only was Ant&Jim would work full time is if any ditched his dumb pontificating to the camera format and went back to a straight radio show, that just has a visual element for videos and such.
Nah not really. It's still very much dependent on who the guest is and even then the show is largely boring. Jim joining would be saving a sinking ship.

I know this is a massively unpopular opinion here, but I would really enjoy it if Sam somehow got back together with Jim and Anthony.

I always enjoyed Sam chiming in with his fake earnestness.

Most pests never listened to Special Deliver (Sam & East Side Dave) where he was a brilliant sarcastic cheeky boy.
9 jakdak 2015-12-01
Even Sam's solo show wasn't terrible. (His pre-show was shit but noone could have done anything with that format)
How great would it be to get those two back together on TACS :)

I will live happily under Sharia law if Sam and Jimmy join TACS

Sammy is a good boy

He knows how to push Jim's characters further. Never had a problem with him.

He was the best with Chip
3 Viking_Lordbeast 2015-12-01
And he was pretty good at making fun of Opie without him realizing it. Must be from all the practice with Scorch.

Sam could actually riff with Jim better than the radio legend could.

How is Ant going to afford Jimmy? Just trying to look at this from a realistic perspective.

He has plenty of choices. He's a talent that could go plenty of other places, even start something of his own.

His solo radio show is ok. His stand up is ok. His vice show was ok. His chemistry with ant is fucking amazing.
11 dudemarama 2015-12-01
If jimmy ever joined TACS, the amount of new subscriber that joined the network will be a hell of a lot more than enough to pay his salary.

And ants race bullshit would get as exhausting as tits dullardry. It might me time for the sweet boy to forge his own way for once.

I would watch the hell out of that.

I miss Sam because he used to acknowledge Jimmy's characters.
5 Drunken_Wizard23 2015-12-01
If for no other reason, this morning was great because Jim sincerely asked Opie, "Why won't you make eye contact with Uncle Paul?"
2 ApevonTarskin 2015-12-01
Uncle Paul reminds Op of his mother touching his wee-wee as a child.

2 baraksobamas 2015-12-01

2 raymondfish 2015-12-01
I would subscribe in a heartbeat.
1 ShabazzJenkins 2015-12-01
I'd like to hear Travis as the on-air producer guy with them. He knows how to play off of Jim and Ant's humor better than most comics.
