I got to hear some of Opie's Morning Merriment this morning. That radio dynamo, Esther Ku told a story about her childhood, and how one of her brothers threw a plate at their mother.
Not to be outdone, Opie casually mentioned, "Yeah, one of my brothers pulled a knife on our mom. Sniff. He was about 16 or 17 at the time. Pulled a knife and walked out of the house. Didn't come back for a couple years. I don't know. He was cutting a bagel or something. Didn't see him for like two, three years after that. Then when I was in college on Spring Break in Daytona a couple years later, you know, all the colleges are there. I asked around if anyone had seen my brother, and these guys point to an RV, and he sleeping under it. I was like 'Hey. Good to see you again.'"
That just kind of hung there for a little bit until Jim plowed right past and said to Esther Ku, "I want to hear about your brother and the plate..."
Esther Ku is one of the least entertaining people on the planet; she mentioned that her mother and father hit her, I wish her parents were Joel Steinberg and Hedda Nussbaum...
Why does Opie think he has a personal connection with the somebody just because they got along well on his radio show? If JJ Abrams has to pick between doing O&J and Howard, he's not going to do O&J.
it must be so awkward for whatever poor girl finally accepts his invitation to dinner out of pity. Jim sitting across from her, poorly acting like he isn't thinking about smelling her asshole. a horrible, ass-out side hug at the end of the night. climbing into another stinking cab to go home, alone, again.
