Is "DannyFromTheShow" the most positive O&A turnaround ever?
26 2015-11-30 by jasonayeiter
In the history of O&A (yes, I know the show is dead but the "community" is still alive) there have been many who were liked but eventually became hated by fans. But there's only been a few I can think of who have made the turnaround from negative to positive perception.
So, is Danny the most significant one and what other one's can you guys think of? Here's my list:
Scott Shannon
Joe Piscopo
Humble & Fred (Jocktober target)
"Meatballs" from "The Todd Show" (Jocktober target)
Larry King

This sub was getting stagnant and was desperate for some new info. Has little to do with whether people like Danny or not.

Yeah, it will wear off soon. I've never really had a problem with Danny - I actually thought he was a pretty good producer - but this sub has hated him so passionately for so long, I can't see the turnaround lasting.

He's fine until you have to hear his voice, and hearing his voice brings up all the faggoty things he's done on the air and off it.

He was definitely funnier than Opie but he was just as needy and defensive.

Exactly. I commented a couple months ago about how Danny never really bothered me and got downvoted. Now everyone is sucking his dick

Really? My dick is dry AF. :\

Piscopo does not belong on this list. They bashed him for 3 hours...Then they had him come on, probably thinking, "we can just rip on him some more." But when he came in, they just felt bad for the guy. So they let him babble for a bit and took pity on him
I'd like this to also show how completely worthless Opie had become. He was the "Evil Genius" behind the awkward, depraved, and shameful bits that made you cringe over the years. And when he looked at Piscopo...he saw a more talented version of himself trying to grasp for something, anything resembling fame. Now, that may sound kinda sweet like ...and the Grinch's heart grew 3 times... No!
Anthony and Jimmy spent 3 hours the previous day using their skills to contribute to the show. What happens when it's Opie's turn to be the despicable sociopath the show tolerated? The only thing he can contribute that could possibly be misconstrued as humorous...He chokes. So, instead of listening to uncomfortable silence or a tearful breakdown from an aging New Jersey sack of shit, Piscopo talks to O&A like they used to play Monster Rain back when they were kids
What does Jim say about Chip? "Everyone wants him to be some anti-hero, but he always fails...Chip will always let you down..."

Piscopo totally counts, because Ant and Jimmy absolutely eviscerated him and when he got on air it was abundantly clear that he couldn't have cared a molecule less and had a genuinely good time. It was impressive

and molecules are real small

So you find Piscopo's delusional naivety impressive? He was a dork that wanted to be liked. It was sad, not something to revere

Of course his aspirations of navel-gazing lounge singer stardom were supremely laughable, but his in-studio attitude wasn't. He took literally all the devastation they hurled in his direction and it sounded as though it did not bother him in the slightest on any level. Piscopo was like the extreme polar opposite of opie in regards to being the butt of a joke, and that's some zen shit
0 Lasagna_Hat 2015-11-30
Yeah, he's delusional and lacks any self-awareness. You are the only one who thinks Piscopo was redeemed.

Piscopo was never a turn around. They mocked his pathetic life mercilessly to the end. Sometimes when I think my life is a festering flaming pile of shit I listen to that series of shows to remind myself things could be much much worse.

The Piscopo saga is one of the greatest things ever.

I totally agree. It had everything. Drama, comedy, tragedy, pathos, a washed up loser who couldn't stop making babies he couldn't possibly pay for.

I make distinctions. The Danny from the show came across as a real piece of shit. I don't care how young he was back then, he was totally unlikable. This new Danny is only interesting because of how much insider info he has. I don't know if it makes me actually like him any more.

I thought Danny, was a cunt but also no worse than anyone else on the show (Erock is infuriating a lot of times but I guess it equaled out because he was the punchline for everything) and thought he was a little funnier than he was given credit for.

i like Danny he's a good egg
-3 buryonedeep 2015-11-30
My guess would be Ant wanted to bring him into the network and suggested Danny come on here and clear the air/ease the news before he comes over.
4 TheFatMosque 2015-11-30
well your guess is fucking stupid
