That was over the top even for me. He was the absolute worst though. Fucking Sam. We wanted interns that could perform tasks correctly and quickly. Sam hired nothing but his own personal lackeys. Intern David, this.....thing. Almost as stupid as Intern Ricky whom we sent to the Rock & Roll Cafe for breakfast one day and he goes "Which place is that." We tell him it's the one with the blue awning.
He disappeared for a fucking hour so we called him. he says "I can't find a place called The Blue Awning."
I'm happy Sam got his way, his cadre of spergs made for comedy gold.
I thought I remember you saying you had a hand in hiring Intern David though, irrc you talked about "talking to him for 5 minutes and I went to Steve saying 'We have to get this kid'".
That's true. But you witness his mannerisms and you immediately see he's gold. The difference being that David was highly competent. Sure he was a bit....off.. but he wouldn't get lost going for coffee.
I still snicker at the thought of that conniving little shit coming up with the title of "Executive Intern" and bestowing it on David. The radio equivalent of having him stand on his foot locker with a jelly doughnut in his mouth while everyone else PT's to oblivion.
How much of the Blind Intern Stevie insanity was Sam's 'fault' for pushing his buttons vs Stevie truly being a complete fuck up.
I mean it's not like Stevie started out strong on his own with the whole Morning Mashup/Dunkin Donuts debacle.
But Danny, are you able to get into what happened after Blind Intern Stevie? Obviously you guys got in trouble for the hazing, but I don't think it was ever really discussed in detail on air.

King David is the greatest show associate, period. Despite all of sam's inane, presence-less radio work he sure knew how to pick a winning intern.

Why didn't this wonky eyed shit just quit? Or get them in trouble for "ableist bigotry"? Seems like it would be his style?
