The funniest part of the Opie hate.

The funniest part of the Opie hate is I think we've analysed this simpleton so much, 11,000 fags poring over 20 years of audio, that I think we have his number.

Opie's not a complicated man, he's not very deep, he's not a nuanced person, he's an insecure transparent mornic square. I think the picture we paint of him is actually 100% accurate. We know his insecurities, his tells, when he's lying, his fucking speech patterns. It's a very complete portrait.

Ant and Jim are harder to pinpoint harder to predict, both of them still manage to surprise me now and then, but Opie is a simple, simple man, and the most damning and funniest part of this entire thing is everything "real" we say about this retard is true. That has to fucking hurt.

All his defence mechanisms are very rudimentary.

I think the funniest part is the outright denial that his fan base hates him. Remember all the times during Jocktober he would say "Why do these guys ignore it, you have to address it." Now he stays in his little bubble, blocking anyone who even slightly criticizes him. He could have nipped this in the bud a long time ago by addressing this sub. "So yeah I know that there are a bunch of people who find me annoying and unfunny online. I'm well aware that I have trouble with the English language, and I'm not the funniest guy in the room. I love doing talk radio, and having Anthony and Jim to make people laugh has been incredibly helpful to my career. I can't change who I am, but I love this gig and I'm not going to quit because of some people on Reddit who don't like me." People would still hate him, but it wouldn't be even close to how bad it is now. As it is, he deserves every shitty thing said about him.

But instead, he goes with "I've been doing this since I was 18"

Which is a terrible comeback, anyway. Lots of people get into something young and survive in a swamp of mediocrity, or survive on others talent. I'd be more impressed if he'd of just broke in 3 years ago, and made it to this level.

You think he should go with "a real moment"?

If he did that, then, you see, he'd also be acknowledging that to the brass, and I think the perception by management that he is the "creative force" behind O&A is what made Opie Radio exist.

He and management are cut from the same cloth, and he is a savant at telling those old white guys exactly what they wanna hear.

Also, in his mind he truly is the star of the show, and this is the opoortunity he wanted for at least a decade. He's getting more money and sole biling. I don't think he got him fired but he pretty much admitted he didn't "go to bat" for Anthony, and also that he had wanted this for a while and, that "Ant wanted it too".

Ant has denied this, and for some reason I believe him!

So yeah, he deserves this. No sympathy. I wish he had done what you said but then even I wouldn't hate him.

I don't hate him because he's unfunny, I hate him because he acts like "talent" when he has none.

tldr, Opie is like an ugly singer with a shitty voice who acts like a fucking pop diva.

its more than a few people on reddit....

Not really.

What is the last thing that Jim did recently that surprised you? He do a Chip joke or talk about free speech or internet anonymity or celebrity photos or trannies? He hasn't done anything "surprising" in over a decade. I'm not even sure being surprising is a good measure of somebody's talent.

What is the last thing that Jim did recently that surprised you?

Well, every joke has an element of surprise to it. I don't know what exact joke Jim is going to say before he says it. Opie doesn't tell jokes, so it's easy to predict what he's going to say.

I'm not even sure being surprising is a good measure of somebody's talent.

I meant in terms of knowing what someone is like. In radio you often think you know someone because you listen to them for hours at a time for years on end, but you really don't. But I think we actually do know Opie quite well, and that's because he's such a dullard.

Every Jim joke has an element of surprise to it? ".... with a shotgun!" ".... by a tranny!" ".... or sumptin!" Jim's jokes are all coming from a mile away. He's certainly quick to deliver a funny line but he never says anything that is out of his ordinary few subject areas.

Not every Jim joke, every joke in general. If Jim makes you laugh just once a week with a good line, as defeated and depressed as he is with Tits, there's some semblance of surprise in it.

makin plans to go to Europe surprised my balls and everyone else's. so there's that.

But that isn't a joke.. As far as the stuff he talks about and the jokes he tells he doesn't do anything surprising. I don't even think that being surprising matters really.

You should be a scientist.

tss yea i study PECKAS

I MEAN COOTAS I DIDN NEVER STUDY NO PECKA SEVERAL TIMES

Sam: "several times?!"

"several" is NOT in Chip's vocabulary.

"Several...I have several." -Jack Tors

several peckas

this tbh fam smh

The funniest was the Harry Hater backfire. The saddest thing about this for Opie is that he loves social media nonsense & mean spirited attacks against the weak. He wants IN on this. Twitter, viral videos are a big deal for him. He's an idiot, why wouldn't they be? He probably figured he'd get some ribbing for Harry Hater, but I think he wanted us to laugh with him. We all know how that turned out.

Harry the Hater was meant as a strike back in the war against the fans. He was going to charge over the hill guns blazing and all the fans who were quietly on his side were going to take up their arms and follow him into battle. Instead he charged over the hill by himself, tripped over a stick, and was immediately hit by a thousand drone strikes as everyone laughed at him.

and two months too late he edits the video and releases it again, just to let his fans know that the cocksucker version didn't get to him. And nobody cared. Fuckin oof.

this guy gets it!

My "hate" built up over time. During my first foray into classic O+A clips, I didn't even know who was who, and so neither bothered me too much. But over time I noticed that one would constantly interrupt, talk over, de-rail, and bury conversations on a whim. I could tell this guy had a massive superiority and control complex, and an ego that towered over his peers. Even though in reality his peers were funnier, wittier, and all around more talented.

There was one old clip in particular.. I can't remember what was happening but Anthony was mad at E-Rock for some reason. Ant was raving about what he does for his day..

Ant: "I COME IN AT 5, I EAT LUNCH, AND I GO-"
Oqie: "HOLDONHOLDONHOLDONHOLDON!!"

It was at that moment when I said fuck Opie, and its only gotten worse from there. I want to like the dude, but its genuinely fucking impossible.

This motherfuckah is smart as SHIT!

go on jeopardy niggga, whatchu doin?!

i miss Patrice

What's so hard to predict about Jim? He's a sniveling little worm who has no backbone like all the people he trashes for apologizing if they say something offensive. He'll bend over backwards to anyone the more famous they are, even reality tv stars.

Everything you say is true. But the guy is learning disabled and mentally ill. It's really not his fault. I have always hated him and think he's a complete zero.

But the guy has serious problems that were never addressed. And his therapy was obviously unsuccessful.

Classic fetal alcohol syndrome

I don't think anyone has claimed he is deep or nuanced. He used to be an annoying frat boy radio guy. Still some of that in him but just more dull. I donĀ“t hate the guy. Just that he is not good at entertainment.

Ant hates niggers. End of story. Not a very deep and thoughtful person either.

Ants hate for niggers is as deep as the ocean.

lol you guys dont know shit.

Well that shut us up

Really insightful post, dude. Thanks for your contribution!
