Opie has several factors that tons of people have, but not everyone has the magical combo that Opie has. It's a mix of narcissistic, no self-awareness in a way that creates awkward conversations and the things he says about guests to them often turns them off from him without him having any knowledge of it happening, but then you have the extreme sensitivity and fragile ego. Tits AND a national radio show. Granted, the numbers are down but putting up with his idiocy is still worth the exposure and plugs (and paycheck in Norton's case). In my opinion that's the only excuse for not cutting him loose.
