So, worm's career ended up stagnating whilst all his comedian friends shot off into the distance ..

That's gotta suck.

At least he has a steady gig.

He's making great money though for literally zero work. He's getting paid to put up with tits which I would do for 6-7 figures, whatever it is

Yeah but Jimmy has always wanted was to be at prior carlin level he wanted to be respected in his field of comedy. He would trade all the money and this new hack radio show hes on now (which he knows is crappy and his friends are laughing at him) just so he could have a free show on hbo that will get good reviews

I'd do it for two figures.

Jimmy's like a great jam guitarist who completely freezes up when it comes to writing music for an album. He's so much funnier then what he displays on his specials. It's frustrating as fuck to watch. He needs to just take a chance and go a completely different direction stand-up wise. I bet if he did an entire special that was squeaky clean, it would be hilarious. No aids, no hul-ul-ul-ul-ul blowjob jokes, no tranny material. It's probably just one of those things that's so obvious from an outside perspective but impossible to see from inside his own head.

perfect analysis.

He's always got Vos to make himself feel better

Vos is still doing better in life than Jimmy because he gets to see Bonnie naked and put his dink in her holes.

Touché... poor Jim

Without getting into an argument about his talent or skill, which can be subjective, I feel like Jimmy's greatest failing has been that he is not self-sufficient as an artist. Louie--the most successful version of what Jimmy could've been--could be fired from FX tomorrow, has his own production company and has been making short films since he was in his early twenties.

That translates to Louie knowing how to correctly light and film his own specials and he can hire and direct people to fulfill his vision. Jim, on the other hand, will throw $$$$ at some guy to build his website and leave him to do it, then complain for weeks when the website turns out looking like shit.

Louis is rare in that aspect. So much more goes into being a successful comic than just being funny on stage. If Jimmy wasn't trying to be so self sufficient and do everything himself he would be able to ask Louis who helped him out with lighting or editing or whatever. But he won't because he thinks being a great comic means doing everything yourself without any help from your peers. It even goes more basic than that, he won't even listen to other comedians sets because he is afraid he might copy something. How the fuck is he going to know the marketplace if he has no idea what makes them laugh outside his own material?

Thats what happens when blinky mc blinkerson tries to host an outdated Johnny Carson ripoff hosted by a tranny. I swear, him and Ant cant get it in their heads that late night talk shows are fucking dead.

They aren't dead. They just only make the news if they are on a major network and/or are being hosted by somebody already massively famous.

I remember listening to his advice show recently where some guy called up saying that he really wanted to be a comic. Jim's advice was something like "dude, you've gotta juts get outside your comfort zone and go for it. If you keep doing what you've always been doing then you're gonna keep getting what you've always been getting" or something like that.

If Yimmy really thought he could make it as big as Burr, CK or even Attel the he would have left the show and really made a move for it. But, let's be honest, his stand up is nowhere near that if those guys and he knows it. So he stayed in the cushy gig that he landed - knowing that he'll never be big, but he'll always have something at least. I don't really blame him, he stepped outside his comfort zone and made it in the career he wanted, but then he reached the ceiling quick and has just been at the same level for over a decade now while everyone else has pushed past him.

That is perfectly reasonable advice for someone looking to start a career. If Jim never did that he wouldn't be a comic in the first place. It's not like he is some garbage time hack that couldn't make a life out of it. He's just not a huge star. Most comedians would gladly trade places with him.

Maybe he realizes that he's a lot funnier on the radio than on stage.

Success is more than a steady gig or money ... it is also measured by the respect of your peers, and the worm recoils when on that particular yardstick.

Quinn - Broadway, TV and movies

Schumer - TV and movies

Louie - TV and movie

Burr - TV, movies, sells out everywhere

Kelly - TV and movies

Wow - he really is a flop.

He's been making six figures from his radio gig for more than 15 years. His career is doing fine.

Didn't you hear? He has a new special coming out.

Hmm, interesting opinion. I've never heard this here before.

Actually it has been discussed many times.
