Roland held the show hostage to his snobbish junk food addiction for over a year. He ruined dozens of hours of the show. His untouchability (rich kid and gay creep who is a confirmed Human Resoures rat) and celebrity angle made him insufferable.
The only thing every funny about it was Ant and Jim, after over a year of this bullshit, finally saying enough.

There aren't clips where Roland does anything, because Roland was never put into a position to get mad, because he was a crybaby shithead behind the scenes and the second it looked like he was upset everyone stopped immediately.
There was an aftershow where the Roland issue came up and Sam was pretty frank about it, saying that Roland's reactions just aren't very fun to be around.
I understand he's a whiny bitch. But if he is that thin skinned, that fat, and that awful, why the fuck does he go on air on what was a very mean fucking radio show?

Yup. And he always forced the perception that he was part of the "cool crowd" that had carte blanche to be bullies, and for it to always be seen as funny. When he got into fights he never dropped this forced attitude. Just kept going with his "I always win" mentality, honestly expecting everyone in studio and everyone listening to be in his camp. The longer this went on in the fight (or whatever), the more his bitterness about being challenged seeped through the phony exterior he was putting up. The enraging thing was that he refused to let up. Just kept saying things in a snickering tone as if he was untouchable.
He saw the cellar comics smashing each other, saw how entertaining and well-received it was, and believed that he was doing the same thing. He had no idea that he was coming off like such a giant douche instead.
Then you factor in that he was Anthony's little pet and it all became even clearer.

I think he's very similar to Opie where he has this effect on people where you can relate to how he's acting because there's a little part of that person in all of us, but we are repulsed by the fact that these two let that side through the filter and out into the world on a constant basis. It's that feeling of sort of understanding them but also being repulsed by the fact that they didn't know better to not act how they do or say things they say, it's like a catalyst for that seething frustration and animosity towards them and makes it much more than a surface level dislike of someone's personality
Both are hypersensitive, emotionally fragile women who love antagonizing others and then throw tantrums the instant anyone goes after them. But realistically, Roland is no where near as bad as Danny was. Roland was forced on the air because of his stupid voice and awkwardness when placed in front of a mic, and then even more so after "Angry Roland" became a thing during his fight with Master Po. All of the "Roland don't play!" talk went to his head and he started acting like the tough guy they were painting him as.
Danny on the other hand is just a faggot who injected himself into the show at every opportunity and loved to fuck with people then hide under Anthony's skirt if someone dared to fight back. There's also the extreme hypocrisy of making fun of "neanderthals" like Steve C who would want to solve problems with violence but then getting so flustered during an argument with an autistic intern that he threatened to punch him.
The way Roland fights with people is annoying. Roland would take one little fat joke then unload and tear apart every aspect of that persons life, like with the Rich Vos vs Roland and East Side Dave vs Roland fights. Yet he would pile on endlessly when it came to bashing Erock for being fat. He looks, sounds and acts like a big fat baby.
My only problem with Roland is when he booked the cronut guy on the show for his personal benefit. Nobody on the show cared and he did it to get an "in" with the guy.
The time Erock took the day off to go to the Conan taping then Roland gave his tickets away. He was never able to explain why he did it other than high pitched mumbling and nonsense. That was the clip that made me hate that fat fuck (Roland). Erock Army Nigga.
I think people always hated Danny because he went after Steve and constantly said things about Steve's violent remarks to try and get him fired.
It came across like a bitch arguing; Scream in a much larger guys face over nothing and then basically threaten to tell management when he gets mad back at you.
Also Ants infuriating defense of him no matter what he did made him even more hatable. The reality is Steve and Erock were probably the two most valuable staff members ever and the audience secretly knew this.
