The biggest lie fans of the show believe is that everyone comes by for a casual hang. This only ever happened with Colin Quinn but he also lived on the corner and was fat and depressed at the time.
Louis and Patrice have definitely come in without anything to plug before. I think mid-late 00s the core group would sometimes come in just to hang out (and take the opportunity to be funny in front of an audience of comedy fans).
I feel like half the time Patrice was on it was for a casual hang... They would try to plug for him, find out he didn't have any shows, and then just plug @BIGMOMMAPRODS
That's always been the case... He (or Burr) never made a special flight to NY to be on a radio show. They always only went on the show when they'd be in the area. The difference now is that they don't need to promote as much now because they are much more popular than they used to be.
Well, I have no proof, so I guess you'll just have to take my word for it. After the Borgata gig he was LOADED at the B Bar and drinking with my buddy and a few of his friends. After a few hours of drinking he says "who wants to snort cocaine with your boy Jim Jefferies?". I guess he didn't have a connection in AC and my buddy couldn't get him any blow. He took one of the girls who was with my friend up to him room with him. I guess what I'm getting at here is that fatherhood and marriage didn't really change him.
