From the moment they got hired I knew it would go wrong, they picked the wrong show and the wrong time to get involved with Opie radio. All you had to do is pay attention to what was going on around the O&J show at the time to know this will be a very toxic place to work.
Idk if it was all that calculated, besides Pete the show treated them better than Erock ever was. Truth is we don't know the extent of how he was treated behind the scenes. But as far as getting hate on twitter, no one is forced to read twitter, if he can't handle reading negative comments than he just shouldn't read it.
What shit has he gone through? Having your deepest personal fears and flaws pointed out by strangers is the price of open forums like twitter. Especially when he joined a formerly edgy show known for its rabid fanbase and love of roast style comedy.
First off, he's an unfunny thin skinned douche. He's been elevated by soccer mom style humor and thought he could just stroll in and start zinging with a much harsher audience. He didn't get warmed up to the show and instead injected his horrible personality into it right off the bat. He could easily have laid in the background and learned what the show was. He could also have rolled with the insults and jabs he was getting, but he clearly can't, so instead he complains. Not a single thing he's done or said has been funny, but he keeps smiling like he's a comedic genius. He is awful and should know it.
He's a pompous asshole who adds absolutely zero to the show.
He was billed as a comedy writer/producer. He has done nothing to make the show better or funnier.
Add in the fact that he's too sensitive and cannot take a joke. He works for a former shock comedy show - did he really expect the fans to not make fun of him? We love E-Rock and destroy him on a regular basis. E-Rock just makes us like him more by being a really good sport about it. Stangel comes here and tells us he's contacting the authorities and his legal team to "protect himself" when people post fat-jokes about him.
All of this together just makes Stangel a completely unlikeable asshole.

Pete is a breakout star on SNL who already has his own Weekend Update segment where he doesn't even play a character he just plays himself. I don't think this is why they all left the show though, they did this kind of stuff to each other all the time, I think they mostly left because it's NOT a place where things like this happen very often anymore, not a place where they can truly bust balls freely and be 100% as funny as they can be.
