Not a Carolla fan, but Opie's story was so fake about "what are you doing here?"

The way Opie acted, everyone dated a girl like that before. Like, you bring her to meet your friends & she goes "I think Dave was kinda an asshole to me". Meanwhile you know Dave, & you watched Dave, & Dave was being completely normal & pleasant

I could never figure out if he was being his usual paper tissue skin self or if he was going to his shitty fake radio war tactic to get some buzz for himself by attaching to a bigger name. Either way he's a douche.

Idk. I hate Titty Boy like anyone else, but Carolla seems like a dick. Obviously Opie is a known liar, but I can't imagine why he would make something like that up. It makes him look bad, that Carolla wouldn't fawn over a "radio legend" like Greggory. Radio war theory below makes sense, but I could totally see AC doing some shit like that. Also I think his podcast stinks, and he is a boring/moralizing old man with too much to say.

Opie is a compulsive liar. It's been proven over and over again

Even Dr. Drew phoned in and backed up Corolla's side of the story. I remember him saying something like, "Yeah, I know you well enough to know that you can be sort of abrasive in social situations, but I specifically remember you meeting Opie and you were completely cordial..."

If Opie had any confidence in his side of the story, he would have pulled up that audio on the show and dissected/trashed it. But no, it was never mentioned ever again

I don't even think it's a case of opie making something up.....he just misread human interactions the way an autistic person would. He entered a situation with emotional baggage around Carolla's success and attitude, and left the situation with the same baggage.

And deep down, I'm sure opie envies Adam's work ethic, which is really insane when you look into it. The guy has a dozen projects at any given moment.

I'm not saying he is a shitty broadcaster because he is a dick, I could just see him acting like a dick as Opie described. He certainly could have misread the situation, because he is a fucking idiot. I don't like Adam as a broadcaster because he is a blowhard who likes to moralize and tell people how they should be living their lives. When Jimmy went on his podcast, Adam wouldn't let him get a word in. He just babbles on and on and doesn't let his guests speak.

Opie is so stupid he has nothing to say at most points. I believe he made this shit up as an excuse to be on the show

I don't doubt that Carolla actually said that, but Opie likely just twisted the inflection. There's a difference between a snide "What are YOU doing here?" and a casual "So what are ya doing here? (In California, since you're from NY)"

It was so obvious a lie, Opie is a fucking sociopath.

Their other such show, the formerly titled “Opie and Anthony Show,” also largely lost the wind in its sails when Anthony Cumia was fired last year.

Such an incredibly misleading article though... the author presents it like it might be news but in reality it's a blog post about the author's theory of what Sirius XM might do. Someone in the comment section even mentioned that the house he was selling was not his only one in LA and he was possibly renting. There's not a single piece of evidence that the whole theory is based on either it's just speculation

In the past Adam has said he has turned down offers from Sirius/XM because they won't pay him enough. Plus he likes his Pirate Ship.

The worst was when they played Rogan, they would throw commercials in it. Badly placed and edited too. So, on one hand you can listen for free without commercials & on the paid service you get commercials forced in. How does that make sense? They also edited his podcast for time which meant just cutting it off when it went over.

He rants a lot about this subject but at one point they wanted a radio show from him not a podcast.

I'm pretty sure Rogan still gets played on Opieraqio. Usually like an hour of his best interview that week. Unless he pulled it very recently.

I don't understand how Sirius is still a thing. It's an inaccessible medium that barely stood out for a few years and that's it. Do they even still have the vehicle contracts? How many truck drivers can there be? They have to be lying to their advertisers about how many people listen.

As far as I can tell they are surviving mostly based on the vehicle contract deal they have. The only times I ever hear about satellite is from people who have it in their cars for free for the first year, or however that goes. Or, if they continue to pay for it, they listen to it specifically for the music.

it is because they put them in new cars. it is very simple, to use. you turn on your car and it works the same as terrestrial radio. you don't have to mess with bluetooth or plugging in your phone. i pay $25 every 6 months for it and i would say it is worth the money for that price. they are making android auto and apple carplay wireless and apps keep getting added to those services. eventually sirius won't be needed.

They do still have vehicle contracts. The POS base model Kia Soul I had a few years back still had an XM receiver. XM pre-merger was the shit. They actually cared about programming and had great content. Sirius fucked it all up.
