It's just so perplexing that the Opie and Anthony Show, sans Anthony, is now produced by the same people who would even come up with an idea as middle-of-the-road and milquetoast as this.

I'm very curious what will become of the O&J show in Oct 2016. Will the Stangel bros be done with the show? Replaced by some other executive producers/writers/Googlers? Will Opie just pack it in and Jim move on? Or will they get offered a nice pay day and another 2(?) year deal that will be nearly impossible for them to refuse?
I'd love to see Jim with Anthony, but if it doesn't make financial/career sense, that ain't happening. Does Sam come back to produce the show after his show gets cancelled? O&J was a helluva lot better when Sam was involved. He understands Jimmy better, and interacts with Jimmy better than both Opie and the Stangels combined. Sam has chemistry with Jim, which is the most vital, important thing in radio, akin to magic and should never be fucked with. What really baffles me is that Opie and Jimmy, after more than a year of doing radio as exclusive co-hosts, still sound like they were just thrown in a room together for the first time and told to be buddies and make the funny. Have you heard The Bonfire? Yeah, that's what you call chemistry between two guys on the radio. It's simply astonishing that two men who have done radio together for over a decade speak to one another like long lost cousins (yes, I think Opie's personality is more to blame for this).
I don't go too far down the rabbit hole on this sub, but it's undeniable that Jim does not like Opie. They are horrible as a twosome. The tension is only released when there's a comic friend in the room as a buffer.
Jim seems trapped. He's doing this show that is not conducive to career/artistic growth but it's a steady gig and it pays a lot better than any alternative. Don't underestimate that. If you didn't like your boss, would you cut the cord and quit a steady, well-paying job and take your chances? Who are you kidding, of course you wouldn't. Ah, whadda you know? You'd load up your lunch pail, get a coffee, and hit the job site.
Shit, I'd support a GoFundMe page if Ant couldn't 100% cover Jim's salary.
