Opie.

Opie.

Opie... Always Opie

Whatever member of management who decided to re-sign Opie.

Sirius.

I can understand Opie hating Ant over time. What I can't understand is Sirius firing Ant when that's the type of show they do.

I say both. Both Opie and management wanted to drop the honest and unscripted version of the show. Opie probably got real close to management too. We all know the new reincarnation of the show is the opposite of what we love. Opie got his wish, a planned out show where he rams jokes aside for his interesting topics no one gives a single fuck about.

Daily rants about black people were never what the show was about, but it's definitely enough to scare sxm executives and investors away. I can see why they were looking to shit can Anthony.

Anthony expressed his opinions, I don't agree with some of them and that's fine. I liked that Anthony and Jimmy had authenticity as people. The company should've known that the content wasn't exactly PC. They hired the show because of the following. The audience loved the show because of its content. Both Opie and management thought it was time to move on from the content. Did they really think everyone would hop on the Opie radio train? Fuck them. Congrats Opie and management you've made the Howard show 2.0. In the long run, SXM saved face but lost the O & A fan base. Profit loss? Who knows. They still pay Howard millions so he can do a lazy shit show and have reruns have of the time. But you know, he's too edgy. A host of Americas got talent, yuck. What a fucking joke the company is.

The content not being PC is one thing. Paying one of your radio DJs millions of dollars a year to endlessly rant about blacks is another. I don't know if you remember but Anthony was ranting daily. Sometimes entire shows. He became a liability. I can even remember sitting in my car listening to the show, and wondering when it was going to catch up to Anthony, and well it eventually did. I'm not saying what happened was right. I don't however I can see how SXM got scared particularly in today's climate. SXM executives aren't worried about content they're worried about making money. Maybe they did lose some money when Anthony got fired, but losing a few Opie and Anthony fans is a lot less than if advertisers and investors started pulling their money out.

Even Ron Bennington told Anthony to cool it down and that he was beginning to worry about him.

I honestly was shocked he lasted as long as he did with that.
