Now that all the dust are clear and the smoke settled it's time to admit defeat.

The title of this thread suggests someone actually believed at some point Opie was better than Stern in anyway.

Sometimes I listen to Stern and I'm just amazed at how great he sounds, how well he speaks, how he constantly keeps everything flowing, then suddenly he launches into one of his old man, out of touch topics and I see that part of Stern that Opie is trying to be.

Howard knew exactly how to push Opie's buttons when Anthony got fired too. Howard said something like "I know I wouldn't continue working here if they fired my partner." Opie got angry and screamed on air to "not tell me how to run my business!" in typical Titster fashion, acting unaffected but obviously hurt by the truth. Howard basically said that Opie has no integrity and he was right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyqDUBx6Fxw

Opie can be disingenuous but to be fair he said it kind of an aside (since it was brought up) and didnt act like he wasn't hurt, he straight up called Howard a cunt for it and seemed pissed off about it.
It was also pre-Greggshells and I think Opie legit was furious about Anthony getting fired - probably for selfish reasons, but I don't buy the Opie-Got-Ant-Fired idea

Opie was happy the second Anthony got fired. Opie is a narcissistic cunt, and really believed that this entire time he was what made OandA what it was. Opie is such a cunt that he actually thinks he should be hosting the tonight show

I'd go a step further and say Opie was in on it to some extent. I'm sure he tipped off management to Ant's twitter ravings and told them to keep a close eye. If Ant was fire it was a win-win for Opster and Management.

I think it was a more "after the fact" kinda thing. Remember Opie even attempted the morning Ant was fired to do that Twitter tag-team gimmick where Ant would tweet into the wee hours of the morning then Ope would wake up early because of his kids and take over as Ant finally dozed off.
I honestly don't believe there's any credence to the theories that Sirius wanted to fire Ant or that Opie supported it. Opie, I think, has basically taken the tact of saying now afterwards that he doesn't miss doing the show with Ant, but until the Greggshells thing, Opie, I believe truthfully, was simply caught in the unenviable position of being a father of two living in the world's most expensive city and he's probably just as aware as we are that he doesn't have any skills, experience, or knowledge of anything outside the radio business. I don't think anyone here would react differently given the same family concerns.
Jimmy ain't have that excuse, but I would defend him by saying that a quarter-century performing stand-up still has him working Zany's in frozen-ass Buffalo during New Year's. He might not want to admit that radio is more vital to his career than stand-up is, because Sirius likely wouldn't allow the co-host of "The Opie & Jimmy Show" to take off every other Thursday and Friday to go do stand-up in Coeur D'Aline, Iowa or wherever. The third-mic working stand-up can dip put for the weekends, but the cohost can't. Especially in an environment where it doesn't really matter to the bosses what's on the air because their business model depends entirely

I don't think Opie contributed to Ant's firing, but he sure as shit didn't lift a finger to stop it, and he was relieved to see him go.

Yeah, go on Dawg's Shed. Things aren't so much different over there than they are here.

This bird is literally talking to himself with alt accounts. We really do need mental health care reform in this country.

HOW DO YOU GUYS KNOW ALL THIS SHIT ABOUT EACH OTHER?! I'm so confused.
-6 johnnymcjonny 2015-10-10
I wonder how him and Howard would interact, I feel like itd be extremely awkward. At least with Opie there'd some anger at each other that has to be brought up immediately. Anthony would probably just blame Opie and itd be boring, unless they just both ripped on Opie I guess?
7 Enriquepollazzo 2015-10-10
howard would never have a non talent like opie on unless it was to completely dismantle him
-6 baraksobamas 2015-10-10
Why are you trying to persway people into saying that?
5 Slippery_Slope_Gout 2015-10-10
Why do you keep writing persway? It's obvious you're doing it on purpose.
6 packitchofsositch 2015-10-10
Vos got called out for saying it that way last week.

Why would my typing a word be an accident? Of course I typed it on purpose, how else would we communicate?

Currently both shows are really bad, but I can stomach Opie show more.
Howard show is just really long dull interviews and horrible pre-recorded bits.

The post mentions "Howard is a better broadcaster than opie" which is the truth. Howard runs circles broadcasting-wise around him and many other radio hosts.
As for content, that's a different topic. Howard's show has really fallen off, it's become a show focused on celeb interviews, which was never the essence of his show.
