The Stangles and Opie probably had talks about using social media to grow the show.

They wanted to target a larger demographic.
It's great that everyone in that demographic tweets about how much they hate Opie and hate this show. The Stangles work for a horrible show with a mass of horrible people who hate everything they produce. Is this where they wanted to be in their careers at this point in their lives?

"Gentlemen, he is retarded."

They listened to the show for years. They have to be retards not to realize opie was a no talent loser.

To be fair a lot of us didn't realize until Ant was already fired.

I know. It's baffiling. I always hated opie and then down votes I'd get? Woo, I'm telling you.

I'm one of these dipshits. I stuck up for the guy vs Stern over the years and didn't know how bad he was until the man who steered the ship sank it.
Extra hate.

Why would they realize that? They are no talent losers themselves. They probably see opie as an equal.

To be fair, they are fucking terrible too, so they might be right in their element.

They're unfunny but they aren't stupid. They lie but they still have business sense. I think them being terrible is how they ended up on Opie radio to begin with though. No one else wanted them on television.

I agree with all of that, sir.

Seriously, has it been stated what they do for the show? They write? What content is written for the show? I don't listen.

"you want me to google that?"

Of course they did. When you want to grow your social media presence, you hire 2, 50 year old writers of a defunct old people talk show.

Opie hasn't mentioned it in the last 2 weeks but before comnmercial breaks he was always mentioning the new visual element for the show. How going forward they would be putting up a lot more clips. I just love how it has all turned out and hope it never stops. After Anthony was fired it all became clear that Opie is a fraud, a liar and a hack. Prior to that he was able to hide behind Ant and Jim. Opie has no passion, opinions or real stances on any subject. It's all just made up bullshit and he deserves to be called out on it.

Opie has never cared about doing "good radio" in terms of putting out funny content that is creative, compelling or ground breaking. All he wanted was fame and fortune. Ambition is his only positive quality. That's the only thing he brought to O&A, which served its purpose in gaining status in the earlier days when he had other talented people to exploit. He's like Puff Daddy in that regard. Without Puff, would Biggie Smalls have broke out to a national audience? Maybe not - but having to hear Puffy in the background of those classic Biggie songs saying "bad boy" over an over again ruins them to a degree, like Opie ruined classic O&A bits. Basically, he should have been a producer only, and stayed off the mic

What the Stangels want the show to be:

No wonder the Jews were expelled 109 times.

Has anyone ever seen Justin Stangel and Meatballs in the same room... Holy shit.

There are a lot of fans who don't hate the show still.

yeah, both of them!

No there's not.

Is obsessing about employees who work for a show you pretend not to like or care about where you wanted to be at this point in your life?

Posting silly messages on a social media site about a radio show does not (and should not) inspire me to reflect upon where I am at in my life. However, if I was a fat unfunny Jew in my 40s working for a dying, irrelevant radio show after putting in years of work in the entertainment industry - that would be cause for reflection.

It's definitely very stressful and time consuming posting on here randomly and laughing about what a disaster a show I used to like has become. Those few minutes are a real burden on me.
