Since unsubbing from TACS a few months ago I have all but forgotten about it. If I didn't visit this sub I'd forget it ever even existed probably. As shitty as SXM is, it's a much much much bigger platform for him than TACS could ever hope to be. Also, Anthony isn't making enough money to be competitive enough to get him. Fuck loyalty. Jim is pushing 50 and lives in an apartment in New York. Taking a risk like leaving SXM and joining TACS would literally be retarded.
'Best friends' might be a little strong. But it wouldn't matter, because Norton's celebrity picture collection is his legacy. He would never do anything to endanger that.
Anthony isn't exactly the guy you want to depend on in that situation. He's not ambitious or dependable. I'm not trying to beat up Ant, but when Jimmy had to consider his options, I'm sure he thought of that. The Opie radio show and Sirius XM was a sure thing. Going with Anthony was a huge gamble. Even if they got things up and running, the whole business model might not have even been viable and poor little Jimmy would be screwed.
You are oversimplifying the situation and the decision Jim had to make.
Hmm, yes. That piddling matter of a couple of million. Also, corporate brand and infrastructure. When he could have sat in Anthony's basement and broadcast to 5000 (at the beginning) listeners with a partner whom the mainstream entertainment and media industry will not touch with a 10 mile pole. yep terrible choice he made.
What an idiot! Instead of killing his career by hitching his name to a racist and doing a podcast from a basement, he continued to work for seven figures in the heart of NYC and interview actual celebrities. Man, if only he'd ruined his future, he could have a free dick sucking machine, a Mangrate, and a phone that Hollywood will never call.
I don't give a shit about friendship or loyalty or any of that.
He is getting a paycheck to do a shitty show. That's the decision he made. I'm sure many of his comic friends have done bad sitcoms or embarrassing gigs.
The only difference is that Jim's name is part of it. So with his paycheck he also made the choice that his fans will know he is the type of guy to put out shit for a paycheck.

as long as you're not asking me to "bear" in mind.
"a couple of million." Fucking Trump over here. I'd have made the same decisions... and please show me where Jim is "clearly losing his edge." wtf?

He sold his soul for a few dollars more, and we're all paying for it.
