Notice that Jim will do the show now without him and its great (Marlon Brando). Everyone seems looser and having a good time. I love Jim pretending to be Opie for the crews amusement "Mars! The phones!" banging on the mouse "I got it, I got it, I got it". As much as Jimmy defends Op you can see through the little digs and everyone laughing how they really see him.
That's what the show should be. Once on air, everyone should be just hanging out and not just those with microphones. Whenever Opie's on he gives people errands and tasks that just stall the show. Could you imagine doing that with your friends? And notice the volume and confidence in his voice increases when he does. The only thing he's comfortable doing is telling people what to do.
I relistened to the Larry King interview and he brought that point up when Jim got arrested for the voyer bus while Opie sat in studio. "Hey, Jim, go do that", " hey, Jim, go do this".
Anthony said he used to not talk to interns just snap his fingers at them and treat people like garbage. CSK is the same. They like to make everyone else uncomfortable and annoy people. Look at the studio everyone is an audience to Opie's greatness, he doesn't need to run anything in that studio its all a power trip. Jimmy and the crew are really like Opies family and Opie is his crazy mom.
I was probably 5 episodes into that very YT playlist and thinking "this is a great collection, great choices!" and only after a long time realized what 'NOPIE' meant.
I mean that is a really bad thing when people either don't notice your gone but even worse 'for some reason seems better' heh. Oh boy.
I think Ant showed up "late" quite a bit, 5:55 or 6 whatever, but I never really noticed or cared. But Opie took so many days off for so many reasons that I have 50 or so full shows in a 4 year time frame or whatever where he didn't do the show but somebody else did. Does anybody know if there is a similar thing, Ant can't make it but Opie does dozens of shows with Jim and Sam? Because I don't really remember that ever happening, maybe 3 times or something, "Grim in the Morning." I seem to recall one show where Ant was out and Tom Papa was in studio with Opie and it was an atrocity, just awful radio, but were there any more than that?

I would like to hear that, it sounds familiar. I wanna hear how bad it is.
Somebody posted about a time when it was just Opie and Joe DeRosa for some reason, and Opie thought he was a serious interviewer all of a sudden and had the lights turned down in the studio and was asking DeRosa about growing up with his father and stuff. I'm dying to see it, it sounds unbelievably cringy.
According to the Opster during his crybaby rant, Ant was missing work CONSTANTLY, to the point that the bosses had to have a sit down with him. Given that I listened periodically from 07 and on a daily basis from 2011 to the firing and have no recollection of this, I have to assume that we're getting more Tit Reality (i.e. lying).
Here was a great show with no Anthony or Jimmy. Jim Jefferies, Ron Bennington, Kevin Pollak in studio. The greatness has nothing to do with Opie of course.

It has less to do with his work ethic and more to do with his talent ethic.

Like I said once, "nopie" is the best thing to happen to O&A since Jimmy Norton.

Imagine if your boss created a 2 hour PowerPoint presentation on how productive the company was on days where you couldn't make it to work.
To add insult to injury, your colleagues agree with him and ask him to make more PowerPoint presentations about your absences.
It's embarrassing.

Nopie is golden

Yeah but when I go back to the regular shows and hear him chime in with something dumb, it brings on a mini anxiety attack.

As DeRosa walks in "Oh Jesus, I'm supposed to be here 2 hours".

Opie is in many ways a symbol of everything I hate in this world.
That faggot complained about not getting paid enough so much, but that lazy fuck missed like 2 months of his 20 hour a week job. Holy shit.

Sirius should just give Kevin Pollack Opie's job. Good interviewer and storyteller who can match Jim's humor to some extent.
