In all honesty I don't even think the twitter and facebook slamming helps our case. It just feeds into "the hater agenda' mentality they have. For me the only thing that could really hurt some feelings is someone dissecting the show hilariously and brutally.

It'd be alot more effective to not do that at all and just flood the phone lines the entire month pretending to be people that want to discuss the topics at hand or compliment the show to get on air and then just bashing them.

I'm just saying the whole concept of hacky good moral shows being spammed with disgusting pictures worked because they're clean morning zoo shows, it won't have any effect on doing it to O&J. Rather than make any effort to salvage Ant's job and the O&A brand, he giddily applauded as management kicked his 20-year partner out the door because he was sad that they weren't friends anymore.

Many people have commented how little power O&A had with management at Sirius. If Jim and Op pulled some solidarity stunt with Ant they'd be fired and/or sued. After Ant was fired, what could Jim and Op do to salvage the brand? Start a podcast? Go to terrestrial? They couldn't. They were under contract. Plus, Ant started TACS immediately after he was fired. Both Op and Ant put in no real effort to salvage the brand. Your interpretation of the situation is just dumb and oversimplified because you have a raging hate boner for Opie.

Opie couldn't have done anything for the first few months, no, but he certainly could have at least made a public show of threatening to leave come October, the way he did during every contract negotiation for the previous decade. I agree that Jimmy isn't given a second thought by SXM management, but Opie seems to have fooled them into thinking he's worth far more than he is, considering how much money they keep dumping into his lap. Besides, there's not even a need to conjecture on this. He has admitted, on the air, that he could have done more but chose not to because he yearned to be free from the pangs of his unrequited crush.

Now, don't get me wrong, Opie is the weakest link and he annoys me sometimes. Unfortunately, "threatening to leave come October" would have accomplished nothing. Ant had already started his own show.

If O&A weren't such dysfunctional people, they could have had meetings/dinners/drinks/phone calls/e-mails to salvage the show/brand. Discuss a new direction. They did none of these things. The stunning failure--in a showbiz sense--from Opie and Anthony to come to some sort of decision on a way forward shows just how much they hated each other or didn't get along. It's difficult to rag on Jim and Op too much b/c they were offered a substantial raise and job security (2 year contract?) Only a fool would turn that down. You wouldn't and I wouldn't and we both know that.

The only things they could have done when Ant got fired is A) all agree to go back to terrestrial, or B) take a year off and set up a podcast (like what Ant has done in NY). Both of those options are fraught with many financial and logistics problems so it's not hard to see why Jim and Op re-signed with Sirius.
