I'm pretty sure what you are referring to (and trying to include a veiled slam at Anthony) was for a select audience as part of his 'insider-only' NYC Studio Launch party that featured some celebrity guests and family and friends. It was more a PR thing for the show than anything else.
"Celebrity". Yes I am sure they had all the big time Hollywood types, like Dani GoRetard and Bobo. Did Big A show up or was he otherwise filming in L.A.?
Alright, maybe celebrity in terms of fans of the show: ESD, Mike Bochetti, Stuttering John and more (I wasn't there). Not A-listers but certainly people fans of the show would enjoy seeing.
Idk. Dangerfield is a weird case. He was around for a few years as a kid, then quit for like 10 years and was a salesman or whatever then he started up again but wasn't doing it full time until he got pretty popular in his late 40s and opened his club 'Dangerfields' which I believe is still run today by his original partner. But he didn't become a really well known star until he was in his 60s.
Who cares how old anyone is though? It's comedy. If someone is funny it doesn't matter if they are 23 or 85.
I'll give credit where credit is due, Anthony used to be pretty funny. But even back then when he still was, there's something about standing on a stage and telling jokes and shit that Anthony doesn't have. Charm, charisma, confidence, whatever the fuck you want to call it, he ain't got it.

I agree with almost everything you said, except he has to be older than 54
