Please be honest about your responses: If a man broke into your daughter's/sister's bedroom whilst she was passed out and incapacitated, sexually assaulted her, and then told the story on stage repeatedly to thousands of people, and then further told it on a podcast to millions of people as everyone laughed about it, how would you feel?

If someone you loved was late getting home, and there was a knock on your door and you were greeted by a police office telling you that your loved one had died in a car accident caused by a driver who was high on drugs, how would you feel? Would you honestly put it down to bad luck and forgive the drugged driver? Would you in all honesty even believe that the driver's intoxicated state actually made him a safer driver and so your loved one's death was entirely unavoidable or do you think you would have at least some doubts that you've lost someone you held dear because another person decided that being high was more important that being safe?

You are taking your mother to the cinema to cheer her up because it is the anniversary of the time she and your father were involved in a horrific car accident where she became traumatised at the sight of your deceased father's mangled corpse. As you go to buy your ticket or before the film starts there is a short 5 second notice letting viewing know that there will be some graphic scenes of car accident victims. Do you sigh and have a rant about how society is full of pussies or do you think you would be grateful at the consideration shown by the cinema and happy that your mother can leave before the film starts and avoid an incredibly painful experience for your mother?

You are talking to someone and they repeatdly call people from your culture ignorant apes who are barely evolved from the stone age. They justify themselves by saying "it's ok, I can say that because although I've never been there or lived in that culture my grandparents are from there". Is that a viable excuse or do you think that's a fairly flimsy justification for ignorant generalisations? A person tells you that they think it's exploitative for clubs to pay performers in exposure, i.e. not pay them cash but give them a chance to perform in order to build fans. That same person then tells another performer that they can have some stage time (without pay) but they must give them oral sex too. Do you think the person's behaviour is consistent with someone who genuinely empathises with exploited performers or do you think that behaviour is predatory and indicative of someone who is themselves quite exploitative and lacking in empathy?

You have a friend who tells you that your regular 9-5 job is damaging to your family life because it doesn't allow you enough time with your spouse and children, and that you should re-evaluate your values in life. You then find out that this friend of yours regularly spends weeks at a time away from his own spouse and children to indulge in hobbies and pursuits away from them and that in fact on average you actually spend more time with your spouse and family. Would you continue to listen to advice on priorities from this friend or would you just dismiss his advice as coming from someone who hasn't got his own priorities straight?

You meet a man and he tells you he is a carpenter, but then you find out that in 26 years he has made 6 wooden tables on commission yet in the same time he has mowed someone's lawn for money over 120 times. Would you describe the man as being a gardener who occasionally makes wooden furniture or a carpenter who occasionally takes gardening jobs?

Reading the internet recently really highlighted a disturbing pattern in the O&A fanboy community: You are significantly more likely to get support from them as a rapist than as a victim of rape. But why? Does their show simply attract those people who already have misogynistic views of women or are young men who lack any experience with women and only have the show to base their views on being indoctrinated with a message of hate?

I'd be interested to hear from any female fans who might have been raped after listening to the show or by someone they knew to be a listener, or even just stories of any sexual harassment they would have experienced at a show. Did you find any support amongst the rest of the crowd? Did you get the feeling they were doing it out of genuine hatred for women or do you think they were just trying to please their surrogate fathers Opie and Anthony?

I understand this is sensitive so feel free to PM me your stories, you'll be treated with respect and not laughed at like the many rape victims who are laughed at on this sub.

Look at it from the perspective of people in our sub: You casually listen to the JRE sub and find it relatively entertaining, but you also roll your eyes at how much nonsense Rogan talks about. You go online and you find /joerogan, but quickly you notice that the sub is populated by people who copy him. He talks about hunting, they talk about hunting. He drinks garlic and kale, they drink garlic and kale. He sells them fanny packs for $100, and they lap them up. He sells magic coffee off the back of ridiculous and unsubstantiated health claims yet people still defend him. Then you make the mistake of speaking up when Rogan makes an ignorant comment about a field that you actually know deeply about and even work in. Instead of creating debate your comment gets you banned. So you think "wow, this place is a little too intense for me, it's an actual fan forum, as in unquestioning deluded fan forum. Not for me, I'll go elsewhere". So you find /joerogan2. People openly mock the more absurd elements of the show. Posters are free to speak up about issues they have with the show. So you start posting with these people, having a laugh. Then suddenly you have people from /joerogan coming in and calling you obsessed and crazy. Now, what is more obsessive: Listening to and commenting on a show, or listening to a show and adopting the host as a father figure, copying his mannerisms and speech, buying unregulated supplements and tacky merchandise, posting on a sub filled with other sycophants and on top of all of this actually going into other subs and trying to get people to stop mocking your father figure? Sorry man but this sub is just people making offhand comments about a show they casually listen to. People here aren't the ones buying wasp honey, rubber vaginas, mediocre comedy specials, tacky and overpriced workout equipment, drinking ridiculous "hulk load" mixes, shit even copying the same blender he uses. Dude, you came into a sub you apparently have no interest in just to try and stop people from saying things about a guy you've never met. Ok, I don't know why we're discussing me in a sub about Joe Rogan. I only post on here, that's why all my comments are here. I only read other reddits occasionally but I rarely contribute. I'm not into forums much, but /joerogan2 has a group of friendly regulars who I enjoy having civil and rational chats with. Is that weird? I don't think it is. You could say that whoever started and mods /joerogan are far more obsessed and weird aren't they? It certainly takes much more effort than I've ever spent on Joe Rogan. Why is running a sub dedicated to him less creepy? I don't think it's creepy to run the sub by the way, just showing the double standard. Look, Rogan himself says he's obsessed with minor celebrities. He binge watches reality shows and talks at length about the people in them, and even invites them on the podcast. He obsesses about which celebrities are gay. How many times has he talked about Travolta? I really don't see that I've posted anything outrageous. I pop into Reddit every once in a while on my mobile whilst on long train journeys. I probably spend 15 minutes a week on the net chatting about a podcast I listen to. I really feel like you're unfairly judging me because I'm not 100% supportive of Joe.

That just makes me livid! Rape is so violating, so traumatic, so completely earth shattering for people that being told to get over it is like telling a person with 3rd degree burns on the soles of their feet to walk it off. Sure, maybe some day the pain will lessen, maybe they'll heal a little bit, but that doesn't mean you get to sit there and burn their toes with matches because it amuses you.

Edit: I remember in college this guy told me he had been raped and he hadn't even told his boyfriend about it buuut he told his therapist. The therapist actually told him that since he was gay it couldn't have really been rape. I was fucking speechless, he had convinced himself that she was right and that it was his fault because he must have done something to provoke it. I had to take him somewhere private and I sat down with him and told him that it was never his fault, it never would be, no matter what he said or did (which was basically nothing, the rapist was an ex-boyfriend of his sisters) it would never ever be his fault. I remember hugging him while he cried because no one had told him it wasn't his fault, that after telling his therapist and having her tell him that he was afraid to tell anyone else. The only reason he told me was because I was so angry that someone else was using the "lol rape" jokes for a cheap laugh and he thought he could trust me. People are fucking germs sometimes.

I hate it when people say "I would never say this to an actual rape victim" but they're cool with posting their shitty rape "jokes" all over the internet and making them in front of large crowds of friends. Do they seriously think that no rape victims will then see/hear them say the "joke"? How do they just magically know that every person they're talking to isn't a rape victim? It's like they think they can look at an individual and tell whether or not they've been raped.
