Because everyone writes for each other, and because Ross writes more roast material for other comics than anyone, I still wonder if he's behind the legendary "flavor flav looks like what Magic Johnson should look like."
I dont believe thats how it works, staff writers like Metzger and Jesse Joyce (Giraldos old writing partner) write material for people like Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart. They will assist comics who need it (Patrice walked into the writers room at CC, looked around and said hed only have Metzger assist him on his set for Charlie Sheen), but people like Jeff Ross will pay NYC comics to write for him and keep quiet about it. He may pay ____ to write 50 jokes for him and not use one. Im getting all of this from Patrice's appearance on O&A after the roast and recent talks on LOS after the Big Jay roast (they brought up Ross specifically)
Im not taking away from Ross at all, I believe he writes most of his material. Hes been doing roasts for almost 20 years, he need a little help.
Pete Davidson he's been on O&J a lot the past 2 months, he's an SNL cast member and had a few big weekend update bits that went viral. I think he does that MTV guy code show too. He's fucking hilarious and he's been an extremely good fit with Jimmy on the show, his appearances have all been awesome.
You should check out the new solo show Live From The 405 that I host on the LGR Network, because my co host (and unfortunately) roommate hasn't progressed one iota in 4 years of doing a weekly talk radio show and I can't take it anymore. He is literally Opie. We're on hiatus. http://www.lookingoodradio.com/live-from-the-405-two/
This is a good one, I almost drowned last weekend. Sadly for you guys a sherriff's helicopter spotted me after I was sucked out over 100 yards into the angry Pacific and got pulled out by a lifeguard. In 2 hours I saw 3 people get pulled out, it was a war zone this weekend.
The whole way he deals with 9/11 stuff is great. Was interesting hearing him on the show on Thursday talking about it all with the anniversary coming up. The world has kind of moved on from it but people like him will have it for the rest of their lives.
There was a part of one of his visits to O&J where he talked about his mom's reaction to Bin Laden being killed and when his dad died you could hear him want to be funny, but how hard it was to talk about at the same time.
O&J was difficult to listen to for a different reason than the norm at that part.
Is he really good? I haven't heard much from him. I kind of wrote him off since he was on snl. If he is getting that much love on this sub than I probably should check him out.
Although I doubt the validity of his genetic background, I really like Pete. With all these whiny fucks today tweeting/talking about what happened 14 years ago with their #neverforget, Pete is really just about the only 1 I actually pay attention to/respect his opinion. Thats a tough break for a little kid.

Pete's a good egg

I liked Jeff Ross's joke he did at the bieber roast. Something like Snoop Dogg inhaled more smoke than Pete Davidson's dad did at the WTC.

Did they really air that? That's awesome
16 packitchofsositch 2015-09-11
Ross doesn't always bat a thousand but he's an absolute murderer at times.
6 bizzlbone 2015-09-11
I've always enjoyed him at roasts, nowhere near Giraldo but he's probably the closest of the regular roasters
4 RahnBayngtin 2015-09-11
Jeff Ross will always be a legend in my eyes due to this roast: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qzts4Q_ak3E

He's nowhere near Giraldo because Giraldo fucking stunk.

Just think of the mindset he has to be in to write jokes like that about pretty much anybody.
"Hmmm, what's the most fucked up, insulting thing I can say about this person?"
He must have been in that mindset so much that by now it must be his default process when meeting and thinking about people.
