Is Sam still part of the O&J show at all?
5 2015-09-10 by monkdick
If not then who the fuck is providing content? I know Opie isn't. He's too busy trying to make a viral video to come up with something interesting for his main radio gig. I guess they are just relying on TMZ articles.
Anyway the real reason I'm wondering about Sam is because of them moving him to 9pm. Opie, ANt, Jimmy, Howard, Robin have all always bitched about how it was impossible for them to stay up past 9 or 10pm and still be able to do a show the next morning. This move to 9pm could be a way to make sure Sam is disconnected from the morning show, and pussy ass Opie was too cowardly to tell Sam himself.
So who's next to get booted from the main show? I'm guessing it will be Erock, um unless he's already gone. Then who? Jimmy? I think Opie and the Stangels are working to get rid of anything related to Opie and ANthony, thinking they can be the next Stern show. Stupidly the Stangels are putting all their eggs into the Opie basket, who just wants a little taste of going viral, and has never provided content for the show or even encouraged it the way Hoo Hoo does of his staff.
Hopefully, the reality is the Stangels and higher ups are behind all of this and they are working to get rid of the Opester too. Anyway, so long Sam, you were a great shit stirrer and content provider. Heads up Erock and Jimmy, you're next, buddies.

The commenters here are all right. This was divide and conquer. It started with forcing the most vital person of the trio out and then giving the fortune and fame to the person most obsessed about fame and fortune, the person who has been the least talented and popular part of the trio for 15 years.
After Ant is gone, you drive away the people associated with the Opie and Anthony Show. You can pitch it as "giving them their own shows!"
They fail on their own and then you just throw them away.
"Sorry, fella. We don't know what happened. We truly thought your 9 to midnight shift with nobody associated with the Opie and Anthony Show around was going to take off!"
Who gets to replace the dynamic duo of Opie in flagrantly obvious career decline and the co-host, a palpably disgruntled Jim Norton, stalled out and frustrated with a host he has no rapport with?
The Stangels.
What do they do, anyhow? They are the go-betweens for the people who run the channel and are pulling this off. The plan is to have them around for this current and final contract and then it is Stangels in The Morning. You know how when people in the tech industry get "fired" but for about 180 days they have to teach some Indian or Asian guy how to do the job they've been doing for decades? That is exactly what this is.
TLDR fanfiction-shit PECKAZ

And Opie always said "divide and conquer will never work on us." But I'm sure it only took a few small promises or maybe even just a simple line like "you know Howard is retiring soon, work with us and we'll work with you" from a couple of guys probably not much smarter than the Opester and whadya know Anthony is gone for good and now the Stangels run their channel.

That's the shit he would say to throw everyone off track as he edged the knife closer and closer to Ant's back.

It's because he knew he could NEVER cut it on his own until he was "big" enough to hire subordinates to suck his asshole. Where's that solo show, Opester?
He's gone from a voice in the room that could sometimes not get in the way (at best) to his true and final form, the most cut-rate TMZ wannabe possible. And this is WHAT HE WANTS. It's impossible to like the guy unless you just say you do to bother old O&A fans.

Divide and conquer didn't work on them. Anthony got fired because of his tweets.
2 CharlieDango 2015-09-10
Instead of eliminating the show, they got rid of Ant. Instead of standing by his radio partner of 20 years, Opie wanted Ant out of the picture and used this opportunity to finally get it.
I'd call that the textbook example of divide and conquer.
0 With_Clean_Hands 2015-09-10
Divide and conquer implies a plot. Ant wasn't fired as part of some intricate plot to cut the show up. Ant was fired because "What fuck gawker is calling wait what is wrong, racism? Fire it, what did it? Anthony, What's anthony? Opie and Anthony? Fire Anthony."
I'm just saying, saying this is "Divide and conquer" is giving these retards that run sxm entirely too much credit.
1 CharlieDango 2015-09-10
Opie? Is that you?
1 With_Clean_Hands 2015-09-10
uh, no.
This isn't some plot, it's sxm not giving a shit and firing Ant like a retard, and a bunch of grown men acting like retards because of it. They divided and conquered themselves.

Thanks for that. I got fooled. No way this isn' tall an accident by an incompetent corporation that has no idea what it is doing and coudln't care less either.

Its kind of a bummer, I think Jimmy would be more lively if Sam was there since Sam went best with Jimmys characters. He's done some Chip jokes recently and its like no one knows what he's talking about.
4 Houghton91 2015-09-10
Jimmy was far more lively when Sam was there, without a doubt. The Sam and Jim shows were pretty good, even when he guests on Sams show. Opie's happy though, he gets two fake laughers for the price of one.

Jimmy was EQUALLY as annoyed as ANTHONY when SAM tried to FORCE hack radio NONSENSE. It was not as APPARENT when OPIE was there, but YOU definitely NOTICE it when he wasn't around.

Poor Sam. Booted from his timeslot. Booted from his marriage. And now booted from NY. Over/under on his suicide within 6 months?
2 highflyin 2015-09-10
He didn't get a divorce. Someone on here made that up. He also isn't moving to California.
16 nazereth1 2015-09-10
Holy shit, when is he moving to California?
28 SwitchPerfect 2015-09-10
After the divorce is finalized.
4 michaeIcolestie 2015-09-10
Still committing suicide though

Yeah, he's playing Opie's new character. Its called "The guy you fuck over and ship to the other side of the country" character.
3 highflyin 2015-09-10
Sam mentioned on his show Monday that the original thought behind keeping him at noon was that he could contribute to Opie's show in the morning and then do his show and go home. That's when he mentioned the Stengels run the station and they (along with Wicky) came to him "like car salesman" and tried to sell him on why moving to 9pm was best for himself and the channel.
My takeaway from that is The Stengels didn't want the old Producer and real radio guy hanging around with his ideas so they banished him to 9pm when there's no way he'd come in early for Opie's show... unless Sam's night show gets so weird he is still hanging around when they come in for mornings like the old days of WNEW.
4 monkdick 2015-09-10
Thanks and good, I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this. I think the Stengels want this show and they are about to get it. Opie is so stupid and easy to control all they have to do is fake laugh at his jokes, and throw him a little help making a video every now and then. OpieRadio is about to belong to these fat fucks, and the titster won't even know what hit him. That's fucking hilarious.
4 highflyin 2015-09-10
Coming soon in 2016: "Stengel's in the Morning" on the Stengel Brother's Comedy channel 103 featuring Gregg "Opie" Hughes noon to 2.
5 monkdick 2015-09-10
Bwahaha that's why they aren't writing good material now, they are saving all their ideas for THe Stengel Brother's Comedy Channel Debut. They're just learning the trade right now. And they'll have to throw Tits a bone for a little while and give him a show for a couple of hours a day under the guise that "he's done this his whole life. He should have an easy shift." Poor Opie is so stupid. He's gonna have no where else to go, and he'll wonder why he didn't work harder and why he didn't fight harder to keep Anthony. While he mumbles "They told me I'd be taking over for Howard..." over and over.
I think you just called it though... "Stengel's in the Morning."

Please, I want to believe the Stangels found a dead timeslot ripe for stealing to create something of their own with. Rework the Opie channel, make it anything else, then fire him. Fucking coup. Hilarious.
4 I_Hate_Knickers 2015-09-10
I'd love it if they're the ones who slowly push that thick fuck out the door. Face it, he's only still there because of the contract and his brand which people may have heard of. He has no talent and it's staring to come back on him finally.
The pendulum swings once more.
2 With_Clean_Hands 2015-09-10
Jesus, wouldn't that just be fantastic. He'd really deserve it.
2 MaxKawalski 2015-09-10
God bless the Super Stengels Bros.
2 TroyMacClure 2015-09-10
Sam will be producing Terry Clifford's new mid-day show in six months. Upside is he can still hang out with Gregg when he comes to visit his hero Brother Wease.
2 With_Clean_Hands 2015-09-10
I was listening to a great Patrice Colin show today at work, when I hear Opie say the words "The great brother wease is on his way."
I deleted the episode from my mp3 player. I just looked down and glared at it for a second with rage. Fucking dumb unthinking retard, shitting all over an amazing combo with that fucking jocktober-deserving hack. That's the hardest thing about listening to jocktobers, in the back of my mind you can't stop thinking that he was best friends with one of these nothings. It was evident with that fuck he did college radio with. Somehow because he used to be friends with the guy, he isn't a hack? Opie is fucking less than a zero.
I'm very liberal, but I do remember when I heard that episode the first time, I couldn't believe how stupid Wease was. He is the kind of liberal I hate. Just spouting bullshit with absolutely no idea about what he is actually saying. I don't remember it well, but if I took Ant's side on a political argument, then I know Wease a fucking hen about it.

He could always go back to Scorch, down in San Diego.
3 thrillated 2015-09-10
Nah, Scorch is the big leagues now, Sam had his chance all those years ago and he blew it.
0 SteakSauce66 2015-09-10
Well Sammy Braaaaaaanmuffins can crash on my floor for cheap if this happens.
2 Dennyislife 2015-09-10
Sam is a company man not a Opie guy. He's young Denny. He does every and any show that will have him.
