but while anthony was telling the story, opie repeatedly interrupted to say to burr, "mind you, while this was all going on, we were becoming radio rock stars." it was so fucking douchey.
He actually used to be entertaining. He'd make conversation and even jokes. I liked his energy and the lovable asshole persona he adopted for the show. He just stopped putting in any effort.
15 years in the comedy industry and that is all he brought to the table. Lowest common denominator and mean-spirited slapstick.
He was never the straight man in a classical comedy sense, either. That is just as much of a skill as being wacky if not more, but he never played the role right. He was just an austistic in a room slapping buttons.
