It's boring to watch. The setup is tacky schlock, nobody knows where to look, everybody's ugly, etc. But there's a good radio show behind that veil of artistic and technical incompetence. Just listen.

Remember though, it took years for O&A on XM to get to the point where it sounded like a professional broadcast. So check back in 2018. Maybe by then somebody will have done the single half day of work it would take to fix everything.

I don't ever need a visual element for these shows. Aside from non stop YouTube videos, it's much more entertaining just listening to them talk.

Yeah the lav mics are quite limited in that setting and they all sound slightly tinny. I'm guessing that Ant doesn't want the aesthetic ruined by having those big mics on the desk. You know, what with all the use he's getting out of it ( he thinks it's a chat show not a podcast ).

It does come across as very Public Access but with a budget. Poor Rat is learning as he goes and that's fine for him but stinks when he's always a couple beats behind the action and the live editing is very poor.

And why they don't mic the crowd is bizarre because when he goes to them you have to turn up the fucking volume to hear what they say! You don't have to have the mic live throughout the whole show but for fuck's sake have it ready to turn on when needed. This really is basic production stuff.

Ant should switch to drive time or make it an hour long show, twice a week. Every day at 4pm for 2 hours is not gonna work in the long run. It's an odd time and he hasn't been able to consistently get good guests.

Honestly I don't listen to Anthony's show but since guys are on vacation I downloaded some of the episodes and I listened to the Anthony's show right after O&J and I honestly can say Anthony's show was better and funnier, I legit laughed a few times

I mostly like it best when it's just Ant and/or fielding phone calls. I don't know what did it, maybe WTF, but I've generally had it with guests on podcasts or any other show. Most of the time they stink, and Im much more interested in simply hearing the host's thoughts/opinions/pontifications. Im listening to the show for them, not some other fucking stronzo I could give a shit about. (That said, "Anth" has good guests/old friends of the show on a lot too, which is always nice.)

I wish more people followed the Bill Burr format.
