The show peaked for me in like 2008 to 2011. The freak show stuff and wacky stunts and Morning Zoo bits were at a minimum. Opie spoke about a tenth as much as he does now and the show had in my mind the funniest stand ups and stand ups that had stellar chemistry with each other killing for hours straight. That was Empire Strikes Back. Empire was neither written, directed, produced, edited or scored by Lucas. Lucas only provided a skeleton for the story and executive produced. 2011-2014 was Return of the Jedi, and the modern stuff is prequel dogshit, mass appeal nonsense that tries to appeal to so many people, nobody could like it except the most diehard Opie worshipper. Sherrod Small is Jar Jar Binks.
George Lucas seems like a decent enough guy outside of this bullshit. Maybe more Opie. Not to lick Opie's balls or anything, but as unfunny and shitty as he is, Ant seems to genuinely be a much worse human being.
Anthony always had this anger built up inside of him. From his hating black people to his divorce to his shitty relationships. But he wouldn't always go off on it, he'd direct his anger at anything else and that's why it was funny. Now, he JUST aims his anger at what's legitimately pissing him off and that's why it's not working anymore. He didn't change, his aim did.
Anthony's network is growing very nicely. They have added 3 amazing podcasts. He's about to go to the NY studio. He started from scratch and is doing a podcast in his basement in Long Island. Judge him after he moves to the new studio. When he get's much higher quality guests.
