I always found Opie playing Candy Crush into the mic when Ant would go on crazy rants to be pretty funny. I know most people hated it here but I just thought it was the perfect response.

When he yelled "dammit!" because he did poorly in Candy Crush I cracked up. Just mowing over the race rant.

What pisses me off the most with his arguments is he refuses to see how his status as a comic and his celebrity give him a layer of protection that normal people don't get.

I was felt Opie was the mature one when it came to these discussions and rants on air. Opie would get quiet, and stay quiet. Smart.

If you notice from the older shows (pre 2007), Opie used to be very outspoken about race. He would be a little more race heavy than Ant was back in the day.. It's weird listening to the older shows, they both are the opposite of what they were.

From all the older shows I heard, I never heard Opie get this way about it. Racist jokes sure, but I don't remember ever hearing just, honest hatred like you get with Ant. Though I dunno I haven't heard a lot.

I'm not without empathy regarding those horrible events. My father, a WWll veteran (Allied Forces) passed on some firsthand knowledge of those years. While stationed in Stuttgart, Germany we went on a tour of the Camp at Dachau in the early 60s. Most of the buildings and ovens were still intact. I still have the literature we purchased there with candid pictures and descriptions. Even as a youngster I felt the palpable eeriness and horror that lingered like a fresh wound to one's soul. Having said that, I tire of having these things constantly being rubbed in our faces as if it were our fault and we are serrupticiously planning another attack.

We never hear the Native Americans bitching about the Trail of Tears and other atrocities. They are graceful enough to let it go and move on with their lives, yet we have have to hear the incessant whining about this gas chamber business on a daily basis and that didn't even occur in this country.
