There's a few. Attell, Colin Quinn, Norm Macdonald, maybe Stanhope. They actually seem like good people, so even if you don't like their comedy there's no reason to hate them.

They all seem brutally self-aware and understand their shortcomings. It's a little like Eminem at the end of 8 Mile. These guys shit on themselves so much that it's difficult to say anything worse about them. The hypocritical two faced blowhard gasbags lacking any self-awareness seem to be the ones people tend to knock off their soapboxes.

Big Jay has a great story that's really telling of Dave as a person. Basically said that one day out of the blue he just said that he quit drinking and Jay says he just never saw him do it or bring it up again. A lot of people in comedy say that Attell is very introverted and keeps to himself, but that's he's a really dark individual. I find shit like this fascinating

Nope, there was a period of time in 2013 where he was appearing on the show alot to promote Comedy Underground and other stuff and people here were saying he's boring.

It was 7 am and the show kinda sucked in 2013. I blame the environment and the situation more than Dave.

I've liked when he's in. Good chemistry and doesn't try to put on a show. Just a naturally funny dude who puts on a good show.

When I hear him on the xm comedy stations I don't like him as much because his jokes seem to flow a lot better when they're in a show and not spliced out. Never saw him live but you can tell he puts on a good show.

I've seen him when Norton did the Anti-Social tour with Artie/Stanhope/Amy/Florentine/etc. Everyone was great but Attell was the best out of all of them both times.

I saw Dave Attel out front, smoking a cigarette, and was starstruck. I tried to say hello but he was a complete dick. I went to see his show, and he made fun of me.

In hindsight, he was just busting my balls.

But it basically ruined my only trip to new York city.
