I was SO ready to hear Ant bomb on the Big Jay roast based on comments here.

I got all comfy on the train this morning with my head resting against a window some greasy haired bastard had smeared up before me prepared to giggle at the uncomfortable silences and groans.

But I was disappointed.

With the exception of a couple jokes that deserves an "oof" mixed with some outdated references he had a mediocre set that would have done ok for a first open Mic night. He got plenty of laughs but far from bombed.

So yeah...I was disappointed by reddit.

The laughing you heard was the other comedians up on stage with him trying to pump things up. Somebody who was there posted that the audience wasn't giving him shit.

find me a worse roast set from someone thats been "funny" for over a decade, you cant. just admit it, youre dad isnt as funny as you though.

Oh don't get me wrong. He sucked. Especially when our expectations were higher in a room full of real comics.

But remember...he's not a stand-up comic. He's a commenter, a conversational observant okester like the funny guy sitting at the bar ripping on other patrons.

Stand up is a whole different animal that takes years to perfect.

But he definitely didn't bomb.

Well of course it's subjective, it always is. But I don't think it's a case of mass hysteria. Put it like this: if Vos or Bawby had gotten the same reactions and laughter levels for the same performance I would say that they bombed and they'd get fucked on for it. No he's not a professional comic but that's irrelevant. It was a roast and he said yes to being a part of it. I was excited simply because he was gonna be in a room with comics again. Did you laugh at any of his jokes? They weren't not humorous but they were mis-judged. Oh and I'm glad we let you down. I'd like to let you down into a certain type of syndrome.

I agree. Half the jokes were pretty good, most of the delivery was awkward. He was the worst of the bunch, but it wasn't that bad.

That said, for all the Jocktobering that he and Opie have done to other people in the past, I'm surprised he's so thin-skinned about it.
