Ant bombing and why.

It is fucking annoying reading all the posts and comments today. First of all, anyone who listens to TACS or O&A would have known that Ant bombing was a possibility.
Ant has always said he admires what comics do onstage and he could never do it himself. He tried and bombed (he didn't fail because he tried, anyone who attacks him for that are the same people who don't understand jokes and attack other people for trying out to be funny) Check out Patrice's view's on trying to be funny.
Joe Derosa would have destroyed Ant. Because he's a comic and he's really funny, anyone who says he's not funny doesn't know comedy.
Ant should have asked/paid Nick DiPaolo to write some jokes for him, but he tried to wing it and bombed. Every comic in that roast has bombed. This was Ant's time.
It's tiresome reading comments here because nobody in here seems to have ever listened to Ant or O&A/TACS before. EVERYONE who did already knew Ant was an uncomfortable/anxiety/socially awkward dude so when he's infront of a "non O&A crowd on the mic he would be all nervous and shit"
None of this is a surprise.

The thing about comics who try for the first time is the material itself is written with about 100x the humility. The few times he tried self-deprecation, it was a light elbow to his own ribs. All the rest of the material screamed "I'M THE FUCKIN SHIT! LOOK OUT FUCKERS I'M ON THE WARPATH"
How can anyone defend "what, too real?" after the enigma machine abomination?
At least he finally showed some humility when he finally started to panic and rush it with around 3-4 minutes left.

yeah you lost it because you don't understand funny. it's clear to me you don't understand what it takes to be a comedian. Joe Derosa is funny and has always been. sure he wasn't the best on O&A all the time but if you listen to his CD's you get many laughs.

How does that line from the show even apply here? Damn, I didn't know people could have such a hard time even using someone else's line and then not even applying it correctly. One more thing that confirms the sentiment that most people listening can't even decode funny from not funny. So sad.

He didn't try AT ALL. trying would be writing material well in advance, learning about other roasters to have some decent lines about them, working a little of the material out with comics he is around and maybe getting some jokes from them. Banging out some absolute nonsense night of, while the event is happening, on his phone, like some student who just remembered the term paper has to be submitted before midnight while drunk and scared witless was the exact opposite of trying.
