Yes it sucked, horribly. From a strictly performance/joke delivery standpoint, the fact that Snoop Dogg does better at roasts than Ant is embarrassing. But he barely knows any of those people.

How the fuck do you write roast jokes about people you hardly know? Is he supposed to write an amazing minute about Mike Vecchione or Mark Normand? Even Ari and the LoS guys he only knows from not so many interactions. They're not strangers but he's not great friends with them. The joke he said about Soder was the highlight, and I liked his jab at Vos. He actually knows those guys.

If it was a roast with Patrice, Colin, Vos, Florentine, Jimmy, DiPaolo, Bobby, he would have at least had a chance to do something good because those are people he's actually known for years and is friends with.

He just shouldn't have done it in the first place. He only probably signed up knowing that DeRosa would be there, and he would have been able to do exclusively DeRosa shit if it worked out that way, but it didn't. He should've dropped out when DeRosa did.

The problem he probably thought of was that there had already been hype around the roast such that both him AND DeRosa not being there would've been a bummer in a distracting way for Jay. Also, he's streaming it on his own service so he probably felt weird dropping out.

But all the stuff about him not being a comic his horseshit. Again, Snoop Dogg. And the jokes he did actually write were miserable, weird allusions to 1950s civil rights protests and waxing poetic about old racist Italian grandmothers. But I get why it sucked, he doesn't know those guys. They can joke about him so well because his lifestyle is such public knowledge in this world.
