Anthony didn't say it happened like a factual thing. He quoted Vos' apology & then wrote "someone gave you a talking too?" Anthony speculated. I don't think Anthony even has any connection to inside info in the studio anymore

I'm sure Opie has given "talking tos" to people in the past (especially staff members) but I don't think he gave one to Vos on this particular instance

The truth of the matter is that rich is very scared of opie. Rich realizes opie gave him money for a movie and any type of career by having him on over the last 15 years. Opie means a lot to rich but do you think rich actually likes opie? And does not fear him?

Vos literally has no other options or opportunities anywhere outside the opie-verse. He made a quick joke that cut to the heart of opie. Now conceiving the Gregg sells episode ant did. Everyone had to pick a side.

Sure things can get more complicated when you're not just friends but also do business together. However the fact is that Vos is one of the few people who goes after Opie every time he's on. And like you said, of course he just made it worse. The fans (and Anthony) wanted to believe that Opie had somehow forced him to apologize.

Opie may not have made vos apologize, but EVERYONE knew that the joke pissed off opie.

Opie didn't tell Vos to apologize for the joke. Opie is dumb but not that dumb. The apology brings too much attention to the Gregshells moment. Why would Opie want to do that? The fact that Vos thought he should publicly apologize is proof of how powerful Gregshells really is.

It also is proof of how insecure Rich Vos is. He probably stewed over that for a while, and thought he needed to clear things up. No other comic who's been doing the show as long as he has would have felt the need to.
