Ant has gone all in over the last few months, it would take abject failure for him to give up the TACS dream.
O&J will probably be offered new contracts. If Sirius didn't get rid of them last time why would they next time, nothings changed. And Opie sure as hell ain't turning down that Sirius money to reunite with his buddy Ant.
he should stop calling it The Anthony Cumia Network...he does not have star power, if he wants to be successful he should call it something else, to succeed he'll need to not only be popular himself, but also all the other shows on his network.
Both these dudes are in their mid 50's. Even if Ant stayed in that night, how much longer did you think the show had left? I clearly remember what this board was like up to the firing. It was only slightly less hostile to all three then it is now.
I can't see Cumia giving up his network at this point. His show may not be great, but Ant has carved a niche where it's no longer necessary for him to bow to anybody at SiriusXM. He's all in with the autonomy.
Just look at his Twitter. He's never going to step down from the racial/political pulpit.
What are you basing this on? He hasn't released any financial figures of any kind to suggest that what he is doing is sustainable... Or not for that matter.
No idea whether or not he's profiting. My point is that Ant enjoys the freedom to say whatever the fuck he wants without facing any sort of consequence from higher-ups, and I doubt he would want to go back to that.
Yeah, but he also has a hugely expensive house, two podcasts, and a "studio" in NYC he has to pay for to live that lifestyle... It isn't easy, that's a lot of overhead costs.
I agree that neither one of them really want to do it... But if a company comes along and offers a huge payday I'm sure both of these greedy fucks would be all over it.
Not sure why you're being downvoted. Cumia fucked himself out of a job. There is no reason for anyone to ever hire him for anything ever again, besides maybe as a moderator on chimpout or something, assuming that is a paying job. The O&A brand was worthless by 2014 anyway, and there's nothing that Anthony offers that you can't get from someone else without the baggage attached to him. The people who really think an O&A reunion on radio will ever happen again are living in an adorable fantsy land full of of rainbows and unicorns.
There are people on this sub who will argue that Anthony isn't a racist, that actual neo-Nazis are on the TACS subreddit for no real discernible reason, that Gavin McInnes is a highly talented comedian who's going to be discovered and hit it big.... I mean, the list goes on and on. And these people are serious.
It's fucking pathetic but they do live in a fantasy land. Only instead of rainbows and unicorns, which they would find gay, it has race hatred and chronic alcoholism (and gout, in the case of one of the mods of TACS). they're really good guys though! They believe that one too. Strong, strong delusion seems to be a prerequisite for O and A fans--or at least the ones that are still around.
Where on terrestrial? NY only has AM & Sports talk. There are still 2 stations I can think of that do FM talk. WTKS in Orlando and 102.7 The Bone in Tampa. I don't see them moving to Florida to work in FM radio.
Would anyone mind cliffing this? I'm not listening to either show.
When did Anthony say that? And how come the other two haven't signed new contracts even though they clearly said they did last year?
I'd see Ant and Jim on terrestrial radio, doing a quick witted show, bringing comics in, and then a once a week, releasing an uncensored podcast with lots of expletives in it.

No one. The O&A brand was dying when they were still doing radio.

I don't think i could ever tolerate having to listen to Opie again. Even if it was to to hear Ant and Jim back together.

Ant can literally wake up one day with zero subscribers. He would jump at the chance to have a real job again.

That's a fair point. Still, there clearly isn't any strong desire on either Opie or Anthony's part to reunite.

No company will pay for Cumia--he's far too toxic. Even if he went to rehab and apologized, they'd still consider him too risky. He's done.

Stop with these types of posts. Every time I see one of these I remember the hypothetical trade talk.

its not going to happen man. opie has too much resentment even if they did it would end up imploding.

It seems like O&A were just a fad. They made lots of money, but just collected their paychecks for years after WNEW.
-1 Augment 2015-07-03
They'll be back on terrestrial radio, probably. It's inevitable that the O&A brand reunites no matter how much shit they toss at each other.

I don't know about that, dude. I think O&A has a decent sized audience which will become bigger when Howard Stern retires.

Sounds like a plan to me.
