I'm not a republican, but recently I've realized that the party isn't as crazy as the liberal media makes them out to be. This made me go through a phase which pushed me too far right. Now i'm back to my senses since the gay marriage thing honestly but I realized something. Republicans are usuallyopen , honest and directwith rtheir intentions but democrats are always shady and ambiguois with their intentions. Which made me realize, if you want to assosiate the conferate flag with slavery you have to acknoage that the democratic paryty itself is equally as associated. at the very least The Confederate flag and the Democratic party areboth nouns that are associated with pro slavery positions. Logically their are equal concepts historically. The Democratic party needs to confess for their sins beforet they can take the highroad on anyone Drunk

Slavery did extend beyond party lines. However, that doesn't matter to the confederate flag issue. In the 60s during the civil rights movement it was conservative southern states that flew the confederate flag at their capital buildings as a sign of protest against blacks getting their civil rights. This wasn't 150 years ago.. this was 50 years ago. This wasn't liberals/progressives using the flag as a protest symbol, it was racists in the 60s.
As a private citizen you can still fly your confederate flag all you want. Nobody is taking that away from you. The only thing happening here is people deciding that maybe the flag that was used as a symbol of oppressing blacks during the civil rights movement shouldn't be flown on government land since that government has an obligation to represent the black people who live in those states.

This latest shooting was a convenient time to attack the flag. It was all laid out: black victims, in a church no less, crazy white kid with a flag and Golds Gym shirt. Hell, Obama even sang an old spiritual he was so ecstatic. Notice there was no talk of gun control? But when it was the white kids getting shot in Connecticut it was all about guns. The guns are a dead issue now but a great opportunity to pounce on the flag. He didn't sing for the white folks but he did spare s fake tear or two.

I was politically very much a leftist before I realized, you can't trust anyone who doesn't trust you to know everything, and that's why I realized I don't trust government to get big enough to control everything, because I don't think they have my best interests or anyone's best interest besides themselves in mind.
It's a symptom of humanity. There's no real solution.

Oh my god a racist democrat, I would never thought that possible. Of course there are racist everything. The point is it was conservatives against freeing the slaves, conservatives against women being able to vote, conservatives against equal rights and conservatives against gays being able to marry.
