I remember Otto inadvertently stepped on some shells a while ago.

I hated how they treated Otto towards the end. guy dies, they act like he was on every other week. There was a gap of a year even before he was sick when he just wasn't on and almost certainly because he was disliked by Opie. some guys get away with it like Ron or Patrice would have, and some guys don't like Vos and Otto. I don't know why, I think it's a thing about who doesn't give a fuck. Otto doesn't either but Op knows Otto needed the show's exposure more than Patrice would, so he acts like a fucking scorned bride.

Opie is a genuinely hateful individual.

I don't listen to the show or old clips anymore, so it's often easy to forget just how vapid and egotistical he is. Listening to a single clip, especially the infamous Otto clip, is enough to immediately remind me why I stopped listening in the first place.

It's his power trip. With a comic who needs exposure, Opie thinks that comic should kiss the ring and feel indebted and grateful toward him. In other words, they have something to lose and he knows it, therefore he exploits it. With a comic who doesn't give a fuck or need exposure, Opie is powerless and will treat them better.

Was the gap after Otto made the Ant comment? Was Otto always making jabs at Opie? I sort of have a hard time believing his absence from the show was solely due to Opie's dislike for him, but I haven't been too caught up on his appearances on O&A.
