Jimmy Hates Animations

Jimmy hates everything that's more successful than him

How can Jimmy hate animations??? He said on Rogan and on another podcast (I think Allison Rosen) that he just paid 40k to have chip, uncle paul, edgar, etc to be animated and he wants to sell that someone or do an online show.

Seems like a waste of money to me, but so does museum glass for Iron Sheik autographs.

It drives me crazy, the arrogance of "I'll make a cartoon" when he hates cartoons. Anyone who has ever made a successful cartoon has lived & breathed animation the way Jimmy lives & breathes comedy. It's a serious artform. It's like if Lebron said he was going to play for the LA Kings even though he hates hockey. It's absolutely retarded on Jimmy's part.

And I know his ex-girlfriend is behind a lot of it. But how can Jimmy tell if she's doing a good job if he knows nothing of the artform. And, even though I don't know his ex, I'm sure she's no James L Brooks when it comes to developing an animated series

The thing that makes it even more annoying is that I'm pretty sure a large part of his cartoon hate is purely because "they can get away with things non-animated shows can't." But that's not even necessarily true, it's purely anecdotal evidence from his 2-3 years on a low-priority show on Comedy Central. His view is distorted because Tough Crowd got notes about racial/right wing issues and South Park didn't (as if Norton would even know what kind of notes SP got). Hating a medium because they don't get in trouble for things is complete absurd.

But regardless of that, you're right that Jim has absolutely no respect for animation at all, dismissing it all as being for kids.

That whole "why are cartoons able to get away with it" argument is so child like and pathetic. It's like when a kid gets in trouble, so to take attention off himself he points to somebody else and goes "well they did it too!"

I'm sure South Park didn't get notes but it's because Trey & Matt earned it. Everything I've ever heard of "you could never do that on TV today" I've seen on "Always Sunny" (including black face & every racial slur).

Let's not forget that Jimmy was also upset at South Park for their theft. He claimed they stole an AIDS line from him and stole the concept of being able to make fun of something after a certain amount of time from O&A. I'm sure those claims weren't informed by jealousy.

Wow that is so long ago, I'd be shocked if Jimmy didn't think he sounded like an ass in that clip.

Everything you say is true but he never watched Seinfeld and doesn't watch modern comedy movies. He certainly isn't watching any modern comedy TV shows like Silicon Valley or It's Always Sunny.

Yes and based on his Vice show I think it hurts him. I think the sketches were too long & not as "edgy" as he thought they are. I could see him talking about the Uncle Paul sketch like "they would never let us do this on tv!" But yea, I've seen more cutting edge on Always Sunny. Or that sketch about the black guy with the fat white woman...that was like 1st season of "Key & Peele" edgy.

do u think ppl outside of ona fans know what he was doing with the uncle paul sketch, for me it was kinda painful to watch

Does she do animation? Is cokelogic involved? Does he have a manager who is able to advise him on ANYTHING?

I mean, ultimately if he just makes a shitty YouTube animation it's no big deal. Like-who gives a fuck? It can't be worse than the shit DeRosa has thrown up on YouTube over the years. I just hate the disrespect for animation. I think it's a very serious artform and some of the most talented people in entertainment are involved in it (Trey Parker, Mike Judge, even Seth McFarlane to a lesser extent). To hate the artform but think you can do it is foolish. the way he thinks of animation, if someone thought about stand-up that way he'd call that guy a huge asshole too

Good point

He believes that because South Park and Family Guy are successful with adult humor, he will be as well. He did make a good point about cartoons getting away with it. But his hatred of animation is very strange. It's just another vehicle to tell stories. Some things just don't work with CG or live action.

South Park is written by 2 of the smartest and funniest people in the business. I don't think anyone should look at their success and think "I can do that."

There is adult humor that adults find funny because it's smart and there's 'adult' humor that is not for kids because the word cunt is used every 2 min. Jimmy's comedy is the latter.

Jimmy: I don't like Pixar, I'd rather stare at nothing than watch The Incredibles, ' have no interest in seeing any of the Toy Story movies, but I have seen Kiss Meets The Phantom of The Park over 600 times.

Jim is a contrarian douche, he'll always take a position that is against a popular opinion because he thinks it makes him seem unique or special. He's always going against the grain, he's such a rebel!

then years later he sits down and watches something and spends a break on the show talking about how good something really is. and he's amazed like a wide-eyed boy.

If you don't like the old WB cartoons - Bugs, Daffy, Roadrunner etc and the first 7-8 seasons of the Simpsons, you're probably not worth knowing.

Jim said "Japanimation." That's all it took for me, no further.

I like how Opie does of half the talking for the first minute of the clip by repeating the same statement 6x over.

that INFURIATED me

"No, I don't like animation...I'm not 4!"

Thanks Florentine

Jimmy's hatred of animation has always really annoyed me. It's backed up by nothing and he becomes incredibly disgusted with people who like it. He actually chided Erock for watching "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1" because it was "a children's cartoon". His irrational hatred also extends to comic strips apparently. Calvin and Hobbes, anyone? How about Peanuts?

Also, it's nice to know that if Opie was in charge of "Up" the montage of the couple's life together would have ended up on the cutting room floor. I think much like documen-trees, Opie is far too dumb to appreciate animation and is just trying to impress someone by saying he likes it.

And this right here is why Jim will never progress, because he refuses to experience new things and grow. He doesn't watch new movies, or listen to new music, watch different genres of comedy, and the man refuses to entertain the notion of performing overseas. Want to know why all of his projects never get off the ground? Because they all share the same thing. What all of Jim's failures have in common is him.

I honestly can't listen to this Dolt's voice...cadence...exaggerations...lies.

Here's a typically idiotic Opie rejoinder.

Ugh...and his overused "wonderful".

DIE!

ME: I liked that animated movie "Up Up and Away!"

#douche

Jimmy called it that first, because he's also an out of touch fool. However, it is even more annoying that the idiot Opie, who likes animations apparently, didn't correct him but just decided to go with the same completely wrong title.

This IS true. Jimmy refers to it as "Up and Away", to which Opie immediately agrees and affirms. Opie then refers to the movie as "Up Up and Away" shortly thereafter. He is a boring dunce.

He prefers men in make up.

KISS and Caitlyn Jenner come to mind.

Opie getting it WRONG, as usual. Seems he was trying to do the Loony Tunes theme, and it turned into Rolling Stones' "Bitch".

"I liked Up, Up and Away."

The same way you know everything about Katy Perry's hit single, "Firecracker"?

Jimmy just likes making up all sorts of excuses to avoid watching anything different and to fuck more trannies in his free time.

CTRL-F "animation" on this.

Some of the best films this decade were animated. If Jimmy doesn't like Shrek I don't know what to do with myself.

That was the first clip shown here that didn't make me want completely angry. Only took a year

Coke Logic might take offense though lol

I do watch Family Guy, Simpsons, Rick & Morty and Bob's Burgers from time to time. But I don't like all animated movies. It's childish honestly. I think that is what he's referring. Which I get btw

I'm on Opie's side. Pixar always has to go for Oscar glory by piling on the sentimentality in their usually entertaining films. And I know people will get pissed, but Monsters University got by without the usual life lessons shit and just delivered a good old fashioned comedy. And Monsters Inc. had a genuinely touching moment out of what was a satirical look at how various creatures survived, but it was still a roundabout fun time, with Billy Crystal putting in some stellar work when he's not doing his Jazzman character. Or what about Ratatouille, which had a message, but its heart was focused on delivering a classic screwball comedy, and it got rave reviews. Cut the shit, Pixar, and stop catering to old saps.
