Why has Colin never been on Louie? They definitely know each other; is there some bad blood?

I saw on YT that when Colin used to host that stand up show in the early 90s/late 80s (the Quinn mullet era, as it's known in academia), not the A-list, but it was on A&E, I dunno what it was called, and Colin had a little sketch where he was bombing with nautical themed jokes and he goes backstage to yell at the writers and Attell is dressed like a sea captain, and Louis is in that sketch as one of the writers. So Colin put Louie on TV before he was famous, but Louis hasn't put him on his FX show once? Something smells fishy, if you'll pardon my language.

Was Colin offered a role on Louie and just turned it down because he's so self destructive and sabotaging? Was he already committed to an intense filming schedule for the hit HBO show "Girls"? Did they have some kind of falling out?

I've heard Colin's spiel about not wanting to be in anyone else's projects and wanting to only do shit he writes himself, but his work on Girls says otherwise, which makes me think he only turns shit down with that justification when it's another comic asking him to do something.

Colin seems like the type a gal who liked helping comedians he identified with when he was coming up, but now that they're in positions to help him, he goes "I don't want your fuckin crumbs" when they offer him parts or whatever.

and after this many seasons, there's no way Louie just plum forgot to ask. Do any of you have any insight on this? Has Colin or Louis discussed it publicly?

Maybe Colin knew about Louie's jerking habits all along and didn't wanna go out of his way to say anything and fuck Louis over, but just decided not to get involved with Louie, knowing that the shit would hit the fan eventually and he didn't wanna be known as the less-famous friend of a serial jerkoff exhibitionist. That's my theory.

TLDR - why has Colin never been on Louie? Was he never offered a part? Or did he turn one down? Why have LA comics like Robin Williams and Maria Bamford been on the show but not the quintessential, in many comedy fans' eyes, New York comedian?

I would like to call you crazy but honestly I do think there's some bad blood there, at least I always thought this clip gave that impression https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xqEiN73WGQ

Hey, I don't know if you realized it when you posted this, but that's not a clip of Louie or Colin. It's a video of Neal Sadaka from the 70s. An easy mistake to make. But if you could post the clip you're talking about where Louie or Colin addresses the current controversy I just invented, I think we would all really appreciate it.

I just don't think they have a strong relationship. But Louis introduced Colin before in a best of on XM as a "unfunny, irish faggot" so they must have some sort of rapport.

The fucking hips.

The audience is so into it.

That was worse than any chipping I've ever received. I didn't even understand until it was too late. Like a toddler jumping into an Uncle Paul-infested ball pit.

They were having a pizza party and Louie took the last slice of pizza for himself without asking if Colin wanted it first. They have been enemies ever since.

Pizza party at Jerry's Hampton estate.

I'm sure CQ has tons of little Eddie Beale references. staunch!

Louie hasn't even been over to his apartment...

What a gossipy Gerdie.

Yeah, let's get back to the days when this sub was for real men, talking about real manly things, like whether the man with tits really meant it when he cried about the other man. Or if the 40 year old boy with a giant collection of pictures of famous people is better friends with this 50 year old man or that 50 year old man, because why hasn't this 50 year old man invited him to his clubhouse?

Face it: we're a bunch of half fags and some 2/3 fags who love this shit. That's why staff fights produced some of the most memorable material. And its why when the 2 old men fought with their words, this sub didn't shut up about it for literally months.

Let's not pretend that until this post, this sub was some macho testosterone-fueled Maxim magazine bullshit. It was more like People magazine for New York stand up fans. Page Six for mothahuckas. Et cetera.

First I upvoted delphian, but after reading your reply not only did I upvote you but I downvoted him, well done!

his work on Girls says otherwise

Whoa, hold on, back up...his work on what? I am stunned.

I heard it on Artie Lange's failed radio show. Artie's producer was making fun of Colin for hating the movie Love Actually but appearing on the show Girls, like that made him a hypocrite. I don't know how big Colin's role was, but I saw his acting in Cop Show and... oooof... I have a feeling there may have been some "background noise" or "lighting problems" that unfortunately caused 80% of his original dialog on the show to come out totally unusable.

his acting in Cop Show was purposely awful. I thought everyone understood that.

His acting in the "scenes" is purposely bad, his acting during the "interview" segments that are spliced in is supposed to look naturalistic, and it doesn't. I assumed anyone would understand that

No, in those interview segments he's supposed to be a pompous douche. He does that.

exxxxxxactly (i hate trying to explain Col to people, you either get it or you dont.)

Yes, because the subtext of Cop Show is really so very complicated, it will surely be discussed in academia for years to come. There's not much to "get" there. When Colin does stand up and makes allusions to Enlightenment era philosophers and French film from 70 years ago, it may be a little dense or hard to understand what he's saying immediately. Cop Show has none of that. To pretend that there's some larger subtext you have to "get" about cop show is like saying you need a Skeleton Key to watch Spaceballs

(shhhhh..u dont get it)

Someone hasn't been doing his reading.

Actually but appearing on the show Girls, like that made him a hypocrite. I don't know how big Colin's role was

He plays a CQ-like character that owns the coffee shop that some of the characters work on/off in. The character is also a mentor to the male character on the show, Ray.

For a bonus: Here is Amy Shumer on Girls. Which is the only time I liked her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kniMAzPRAk

Colin figured out Louie was a Mexican

I think they were cool until Louie made CQ watch him jerk off and cum all over him

Jesus fuck dude no ones reading all of that shit.

Maybe they're just working on separate projects? They're busy fucking guys, why does there have to be "bad blood"?

You fucking hen.

They're busy fucking guys

They're busy fucking guys, why does there have to be "bad blood"?

How preoccupied with guy fucking can a person really be?

It's interesting in light of what Colin has said about working on other people's projects, and because Louis has had virtually everyone from the show, including fucking Opie, on his FX show, but not Colin for some reason.

Obviously you know nothing about this topic and you have nothing of substance to add. This question isn't for you. It's for people who know and care, and aren't bewildered and confused by things like books, magazine articles, Denny's placemats, and anything else with more than 5 lines of text on it.

Oh I apologize, I'll let you get back to your intellectual gossiping nonsense.

I read it all but I am a female fan.

the fucking insanity of this post is even noticeable here. they've praised each other before on the show itself, ive heard it. no I don't have timestamps. and why do they have to work together to prove to you they like each other?

I don't think Louie bases his show around people he likes or not. He comes up with an idea and thinks who would be a good fit. The Doug Stanhope episode wasn't written for him, it was just a good match for his script. I tend to believe it's just oversight, it happens all the time in that business.

That's my theory.

Then you're a maniac. "Former Third-rate Weekend Update Anchor Avoided A-list Comedian/Masturbator For Years Due To Fears Of Being Associated" is the way-too-long headline/reason you arrive at first? I can think of a hundred more plausible explanations.

The simple fact is that NO ONE on this sub has any fucking clue besides Louis and Colin, who I don't see posting a lot. Just a bunch of nobodies (myself included) speculating like assholes.

No need to hurt my feelings ya big bully

Bad blood what are you a fuckin vampire or sumpin? Got diarrhea from Colin or Louie? Go be a bat cocksucker

Louie never forgave Colin for when he changed his stage name to CQ-ey CK.

CQ and Louie are very good friends. While Louie was on Twitter, he only followed one person, Colin Quinn.

As for Colin not being on the show, it is strange. Maybe Louie can't think of a role for Colin? Or Colin refused? We all know the Austin Powers story, if Colin refused Mike Myers!

I heard Colin didn't invite Louie to a sleepover

I heard it on Artie Lange's failed radio show. Artie's producer was making fun of Colin for hating the movie Love Actually but appearing on the show Girls, like that made him a hypocrite.
