Last couple of episodes of Louie were pretty good. He should do more episodes where Jim Florentine dies.

They were interesting stories, and there were some actually good jokes for a change. Florentine was pretty good in the role.

I also enjoyed how the hack comedian did impressions. Good to know that Louis hates impressionists too.

This season was an improvement as a comedy series. He tried to make it sillier and funnier.

When he started crying over fart jokes & about how he's always loved comedy, I think that was him admitting he got a little too precious & pretentious in season 4. Also the scene earlier in the season when he's talking to Pam & starts to flash back to his childhood & she says something like "no one wants to hear that"

Still not as good as the first 3 seasons. But a huge improvement over the last season which was a complete shit fest

Louie has always said he needs to really fuck something up in order for him to learn and improve. See: his early irreverent standup where he just makes alot of wierd noises, Pootie Tang, Lucky Louie.

Its clear over the past season or 2 Louie really concentrated on the behind the camera aspects of the show, and he delivered a visually excellent show that wasn't really that funny. I think hes just about done with TV and will be making films in the future where he learned from some of his earlier mistakes

I still love LL and never understood why Louis himself said it was too much of a formulaic sitcom. All it did was satirize them, and it did it really well. Liquid gold piss, Fourth of July cumshots, 6 year old singing "Lick my pussy and my crack", fuck your tits off...

I think the show had a lot of potential and would have ironed out a lot of the problems if it was allowed to continue. I liked that it was a classic style sitcom but it was dirty and on HBO. Nobody really did that before. The subject matter was different, the characters were weird and more realistic than most shows and the laughs from the audience were genuine. I will always take Lucky Louie over Louie any day of the week. I thought he could have started a trend of the classic sitcom using a classic setup and finding new life where there are much less constraints. I'm still bummed that it never panned out.

Perfect assessment. He wants to be the next Woody Allen and merge comedy, drama and romance and he forgot about the comedy last season.

Good to know that Louis hates impressionists too.

Or he's still sore assed about this guy.

More episodes where florentine take his shirt of you mean, ding dong.

The emperor has no clothes.

His rant about fart jokes might have been THE funniest moment from that series.

Florentine and Bobby were great this season

agreed I hated the show so artsy and depressing. only episodes I really liked were the late night ones and the daNE cook one. this season is much better.
