What keeps you listening?

It's pretty obvious the vast majority of you guys Hate the show. What keeps you listening? I used to be a big Stern Show fan, and when his show went to shit, I still listened. I rationalized it as being a fan of a home town sports team. Then it became just wanting to hear how bad it'd become.
How about you?

I stopped listening in October but I'm glad people still listen and post here. It's fun watching the show just get shittier and shittier.

Jimmy's still funny. Yesterday morning 'cranky Jimmy' was great...I still like all the Comedians that hang out...it's been a year since Ant left ..it is what it is.

Jim's funny, the guests can be funny. The show had already been on decline well before Anthony left (and about 50% of it was Anthony's fault). There isn't a daily alternative I've found that I enjoy as much. Carolla is funny at times but I don't want to listen to a republican crank complain about the same shit every day.

nothing else on, except howard.

I stopped listening pretty early on. Around the time of the Montreal Comedy Festival is when I had to tap out. I'm grateful some people still listen and report in because it just confirms my choice to stop listening. really though, I absolutely can't wait for the day Jimmy snaps and he and tits finally have it out on the air.

Part of it is just a sick fascination with watching the show grind to a halt. I've been listening since WNEW, and I feel like I just have to see it through to the end. It's like a sitcom that used to be great, but now they've replaced half the main characters and have run out of ideas and the premise doesn't even make sense anymore, but I just have to watch the final season. (This is all under the assumption they limp through this contract and then Jimmy leaves, and Opie has the self-awareness to know his future lies elsewhere and he goes off to be a program director or something...if they renew again, my brain may explode.)

I listen because opies awfulness is my heroin

There are moments of Norton goodness. Also some of the comedians have some great moments. If Opie would just go away it would be better.

I get satisfaction from hating something that was once very enjoyable and knowing that there are people out there who get pissed off at every little crutch that I've picked up on over the last twenty years.

Jimmy, and the occasional decent guest.

Jimmy is still very funny here and there, if not for him I dont think i would physically be able to take it, but since I can, i enjoy seeing it get worse and worse, and want to be there for its eventual downfall, and best case scenario to listen to jimmy reminisce about it with ant after.

Jimmy and the comedian guest. O&A was the closest thing to Tough Crowd I could get...Ant and Jim wanting to talk about what's going on in the world and not only REALLY making it funny, but also thinking things out logically while Ope played Candy Crush. Jimmy keeps me listening, but he can only do so much. I'm debating leaving

I finally tapped out soon after the on air feud. I just couldn't justify it anymore. Too much of it was boring, and I was forcing myself to listen.
I still come here since I figure anything worth listening to will probably get posted, but I couldn't even hate the show. It just bored me.

When Anthony left, he took so many funny parts of the show with him. I wish i could hear just one "Erock? Comment?" joke a week, i love those. That said, it still is better than the rest of the shit on the air. Plus, i know all the people on the show and all the references.

It's a good show. I like the pop culture/current events element without having to hear a millionaire whine about how much country taxes he pays, or racist rants.

It's really not.

Uhh nothing. I don't know why I even keep coming to this sub. It's like a weird addiction I just am sucked into.

If you're a fan of a successful baseball team and they lose their star player, you still watch the shitty team that is left behind, even if it's just for sentimental value.

I don't think I listened to more than 10 minutes since Ant was fired. Not to say they were putting out amazing radio in the few months before the firing.

Good answers guys. Wasn't going for hate or anything. Just was curious. I do understand. I stayed with Howard until 2011. Compared to the current version of the Stern Show, the last year of O&A and even O&J seems refreshing to me. It's laid back. And at least they hit current events, Howard stays away from an controversial topic.
Thanks for answering seriously.

I don't remember exactly when it happened, but it seemed to me there was a switch when Opie and Anthony started to begin every show with just them talking. This meant Opie was yapping for about 50% of the time, which really started to make me irritated and skip big parts of the show. As soon as Anthony was fired I was out, I just can't handle the extra Opie.
Like many others I still enjoy the hate tho.
