Does Jimmy have the backbone to leave?

0  2015-06-01 by [deleted]

I love Jimmy, from tough crowd, to O&A, to his standup I've always found him hilarious. But we all know he doesn't enjoy the show anymore and his prescence there, as I think he probably knows, is an embarrassment and a cop out. I think any reason he'd be hesitant to depart wouldn't be monetary, but it would be out of a fear of pushing Opie over the edge. Like how when you're afraid to break up with a girl because you know it'll destroy her. I guess he'll have to get Opie to fire him.

Worms don't have spinal cords.

you're not discovering some new level "calling Jimmy a worm" works on by pointing out that worms have no backbone. that's PRECISELY WHY people called Jimmy a worm.

best comment.

Followed by the worst

Followed by the next worst

And the next

And the next

The dude is 50 he don't give a fuck. Dollar bills, son.

45, I thought

Really? Damn he's gray for his age!

I swear, some of the speculation about Norton bailing from a 7-figure gig to go to TACS is less realistic than fantasy football trades. Face it people, IT AIN'T HAPPENING.

He already answered that in October

Isn't the contract set to be renewed in the coming October.

They signed a 2 year deal.

Fair enough, I edited it.

Jimmy is Opie's bitch

Jim is happy doing what they want him to do. If Opie tells him to be angry and shocking, then that is what he'll do. If Opie wants the show to be more like modern Stern, then Jim will do that. Jim is a comedian, but he doesn't decide the direction of the show.

If Opie Stingels tells him to be angry and shocking, then that is what he'll do. If Opie Stingels wants the show to be more like modern Stern etc.

I'm Cregg Stingel, Stingel bout it.

why do you think jimmy does whatever Opie wants?

Because Opie decides how the show will be. Jim just works for him.

Nah he won't leave. And I can't blame him,I can respect him less but can't blame him. A steady well paying gig is hard to come by and I'd do the same. Its sad that a piece of shit like opie has a job at siruis and ant has to dance for subscribers but that's how it is

Nobody walks away from SXM to go do a basement show in Long Island willingly.

Hes a sea slug no backbone

You could have just said sea slug. The no backbone part would have been included. "he's a worm with no arms, legs, and feet." see its pretty stupid.

". But we all know he doesn't enjoy the show anymore and his prescence there, as I think he probably knows, is an embarrassment and a cop out. "

Actually, No.

He loves doing the show. He loves meeting A-listers.

You think he didn't love meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger and interviewing him rather than putting his radio career in the hands of a subscription based podcast (competing with free podcasts) which is run by an ex-cop?

He should join Sam on whatever his show turns into as long as he is at Sirius, Opie has finally made an environment where nobody calls him on his shit and he can make videos, with the Stangels and Florentine/Soder being the go to guys (not that they aren't funny they just aren't insult guys like Vos and Bobby) when he is with Sam at least he is able to say mean things and his characters are interacted with, they will still talk to people he can get pictures with but he won't have to pretend to care about what song someone chose.

He has on opie's crying episode said that he sometimes wished he would of left just to stand for something.

He said to stand against management not because he doesn't want to do the show. He chose to do the show with Opie even though he hated management for firing Anthony. He didn't choose Anthony. He knows the success of the show was because of me and didn't want to gamble on Anthony being able to run a show which at this point doesn't look like he can. But spin it however you like.

I'm not reading into what he meant either, I am saying exactly what he said. Listen to it again.

Stupid.

LOL

Jim wishes he can stick around. You would have to be Opie level stupid to think Sirius will offer him decent contract next time around. They will offer him plugs if he's lucky and Tits will stand by and watch as he is forced out.

He can't leave, contractually. Bad things when you break big money contracts with large corporations.

You're incredibly stupid.

I'm not incredibly stupid. Noticeably stupid? Sure. But certainly not incredibly stupid.

Nigga u stupid

i bet he gay too

u gay! das y u gay!

No. If he had the ability to do what Louis or Amy are doing, he would leave in a heartbeat. But when he hangs out at the cellar and they all bust each other's balls, he knows that he has OnJ to hold over people like Keith and other people who don't have shows. If he left, he's just be a regular comic doing gigs like Louis does, in his tv show.

First of all there, is no way of knowing wether or not Jimmy actually hates the show, you are projecting that. Second, he has said that he likes the routine and i bet he's telling the truth of that. Thirdly, is a great paying high-exposure job and who knows how many other options he has. Fourth, he has been with the show a long time, it has basically given him the career he has (at the level its at), why would he want to leave that at some unexpected change suddenly... lets say he does hate the show and wants to move on and has somewhere to go, he's not going to make the change lightly, it will take a long time of weighing it out because he is loyal but also smart to not change with every small turn of fate. He could come up with a million excuses, its no t about Opie's feelings, its easy to get out of shit, especially with Opie who seems so clueless and insensitive you could really pull stuff over his eyes I bet.

Exactly, he likes the routine. When asked why he didn't leave to go with Ant, he never said it's because he loves Opie and they have such great chemistry together and wants to see where the new direction of the show goes. He said it's because if he didn't have to get up at 5, he'd be edging all day long. Then he threw in something about respecting Opie.
