Opie from today's show: "I decided to part ways with my agent Bob Eatman before our last contract negotiation. I got to hold on to the 15%". Wow! Opie has no problem cutting ties with loyal associates.

Everything they've said about Bob over the years makes him seem like an incompetent hunk of shit. The Opie of talent agents, if you will. I hate Opie as much as the next guy but I can't blame him for this one.

I agree and they should have fired him after WNEW. Their contract shouldn't have allowed CBS to do what they did. The two years off of the air hurt their exposure.
Also, Bob failed them many ways on the Ant firing. It shouldn't have been so easy for SXM to split the show up. After that did happen he should have been able to get the two of them together to talk about the future of O&A after October.

yeah, I don't know why any of them stayed with him at all, especially when they never got anything they wanted in the new contracts.

Wasn't he Howards agent as well? I figured that's why they used him.

Buchwald is Howards agent.

*Super Agent

No, Don Buchwald. Howard would never use that moron.

I don't get how Anthony still has Bob as his agent. He was let go from the company via-email like some fucking intern and that goul couldn't even be bothered to show up in person too at least get a meeting with his fellow tribesmen.
Even if he didn't give a fuck about Ant,the 6 figures a year he earned as his agent would compel him to at least try.
For a while now I thought that Opie saw the opportunity to get rid of Anthony and pressed Eatman not to pursue the matter further.
However, since Eatman's contract as an agent binds him to a non-disclosure agreement, we will never know for sure, but Opie's sudden love for management, the insanely expensive new apartment, new studio etc speak volumes about the behind the scenes shit that went down. And now that he's secure in his position he's pulling a James Conway in Goodfellas.
tl:dr: Opie is Keiser Soze

Larry King called Opie out better than anyone on what a conniving chicken shit coward he is, getting everyone else to get their hands dirty while doing absolutely fucking nothing but cashing checks
2 anonimescu 2015-05-26
Which is slightly ironic since Larry was convicted of bank cheque fraud. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/mugshots/celebrity/television/larry-king

If only Opie knew and was quick-witted.

Opie is a genius then.

i hate opie, but he gets a pass here. agents in general are fucking bottom feeding scumbags... bob eatman seems like a particularly horrible bottom feeding scumbag.

This makes me even more sure that Anthony's firing was planned for a long time, and had NOTHING to do with his tweets. You would think that Sirius would try to take advantage of Opie and Jim in contract negotiations since Ant had suddenly been fired. And you would need an agent more than ever. But he got a big raise negotiating by himself? That means Sirius wanted him to stay on very badly. Very suspicious.

Unlikely.

Opie got all butthurt when Bob didn't call them for their 1 year on satellite anniversary. Like Bob even gives a fuck. Not that I care, I was glad that he felt snubbed.

Long overdue, actually.

An agent is an employee. You're allowed to get rid of them.

They've all talked shit about Eatman for yurrrrs, I'm surprised he hung on this long.
2 sway_usa 2015-05-26
Was that a reference to the "I hate this place" guy?
1 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2015-05-26
Nothing works here! The medications don't work!

now that one takes me back

The way Opie, Ant and Jim complained about him I wondered why they kept him around. I remember Ronnie B calling Eatman out on air because he was not even attempting to look for a job for The Hideout crew. I've also heard Big O and Dukes complain about how he would not even contact them during contract negotiations and would not even try to fight for them.
