Do you think Opie sees himself as talented?

I'm wondering.

Been doing this since I was 18 bruh, I think I know what I'm doing.

One time a caller was giving him shit about talking over the talented people on the room and he just kept repeating:

Ya I'm one of 'em

Ya I'm one of 'em

Ya I'm one of 'em

Ya I'm one of 'em

Ya I'm one of 'em

Ya I'm one of 'em

Ya I'm one of 'em

Ya I'm one of 'em

That was very telling. Opie has layers of belief. Deep down, he knows how terrible he is, but he denies it to himself enough that he can sometimes forget it.

Absuh-LOOTELY!

Just because he's been doing something since he was 18, doesn't mean he's doing it well. it just means he's been doing it since he was 18...

I've been jerking off since I was 13 and I still look like an asshole when I do it.

"I know in my soul that I could host the Tonight Show."

I don't think he does deep down. Sure when he needs to defend himself against "haters" he'll talk about how accomplished at radio he is, but when the pressure is on and he just needs to be funny the Opster panics and stalls.

If he honestly does think he's talented, he's shockingly delusional.

that seems like the general consensus on this subreddit.

Sadly, yes.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSS!

He thinks he's the 'Opie' in Opie Radio!

Through the weight of his collapsing eye lids, yes he does.
