Louie is a funny motherfucker. He's put out quite a few fantastic stand-up specials, has provided us with some of the most brutal, honest, and hilarious hours of O&A, has made some excellent seasons of comedy television, and has remained pretty loyal to people like Bobby and Norton.

The guy absolutely blew the fuck up, based on a sense of humor that went completely against what appeals to mainstream audiences, because he genuinely is a funny and talented guy.

Did he soften up a bit? Start making some jokes that catered to the SJW crowd? Take his show in too serious of a direction for some people? Yes he did. And I thought his latest comedy special (and to a lesser extent, Oh My God) was pretty damn weak. But a lot of that is because that's what he has to do to retain that level of success. The hate should be directed at the people who make it impossible to remain in the spotlight without cutting out most of your controversial aspects.

He has kids to take care of, and he's making millions. He would be a fucking retard to not capitalize on that and he's actually doing a pretty decent job at still retaining some of the appeal for people who liked his earlier work.

The hateful comments here for him (and for people like Burr) can be funny, but when they lose that humor and it just becomes people actually trashing them for doing what's necessary to be successful, after providing countless hours of entertainment, it becomes just as retarded as when people attacked the latest Patrice benefit with pure vitriol as if it was some affront to humanity.

The thing that bugs me about Louis is that he projects a lot. His preachiness - which most people find he's overdoing these days - is informed by his own shitty behavior and self-loathing but tries to drag "us" in with him.

The best example is his famous "everything is great and nobody's happy" bit where he was chastising someone who was upset about the wifi being out on the plane. Later in an interview, he admitted it was him and he "caught" himself. He does this for all his bits, I think; he finds some insufferable hipster shit that he does and passes it off onto the rest of society, usually younger people. We all know deep down that Louis is a pretentious art-film loving asshole - this is shown best with his show - but he goes up looking like the everyman. He really is this cunt.

I love Louie, if it weren't for him I would've never been turned on to O&A. I think that can be said about a lot of people here and so many think that it's the other way around and that O&A made him.
