When Howard doesn't re-sign and all Sirius XM has left is a horrible, "Opie Show" that nobody listens to, the executives are going to panic.

Prediction: Sirius XM will be kicking down Anthony's door within 6 months if Howard doesn't re-sign.

Nope. SiriusXM is way bigger than O&A, and they'll also survive without Stern. Subscriptions actually went up after Ant was fired (for different reasons). Why start repaying Ant's multi-million dollar salary when it will barely affect subscriptions? That money will go towards bringing in a new audience. My guess is they'll try to bring in some "e-celebrities" to go after the younger crowd.

As long as comedians are willing to do shows for $150 a show, Sirius will be just fine.
Gregg Hughes needs Sirius radio more than Sirius needs Gregg Hughes.
Artie Lange and Stuttering John have proven this.

How do you know subs went up?
4 YouAintGotToLieCraig 2015-05-15
They release that kind of info since they are a publicly traded company.

The stock dropped one percent though.

This writer sounds like an anthony-hater and I can guarantee that Sirius fucked with the numbers and most of those subs are sitting in lots somewhere in Akron.

What you said, or you're an Anthony apologist who just got his heart hurt.

It's pretty funny how the people who canceled their subs for xm thought they were sticking it to them and putting pressure to give ant his job back. It was incredibly pretentious to think they could give a shit about any of them.

They count every 90 and 180 day free trial given out to New and Certified Used Car buyers as a new subscription.
Most of their growth is illusory.
In ten years, the only audience left for Sirius XM will be truckers.
5 bigmattson 2015-05-15
Yes, but if they always count car purchases it doesn't skew the number related to Ant's firing unless used car lots across the country had huge "Ant's a racist 0down double your trade in" sales.

That's incorrect. Their latest financial data shows strong growth and profits. Short term SiriusXM looks very solid financially.
Long term, different story. Someday we will have nationwide blanket direct digital internet service to vehicles and homes from land based telecoms. When the coverage and quality is good enough, satellite radio will be a very tough sell.
Who needs satellite when you can get all the content you ever wanted over your phone, including TACS....or the Opie podcast.

Do you jerk off when you write Anthony fanfic?
12 Ant_Sucks 2015-05-15
Most of their listeners don't listen to OpieRadio or Howard

Do you have a job?
Maintaining dozens of different, Anthony bashing accounts must be pretty time consuming.
1 Ant_Sucks 2015-05-15
This is the only account I use here. Those are other people bashing Ant

Not a chance. They'll have a lot of money to spend, and will buy a shitload of celebrities to have their own channel.
5 CowsAreCurious 2015-05-15
No. Talk radio is all but dead. 99% of their subs are people that casually listen to music in their car. If the cars didn't come with satellite radio most of these people would never sign up for it. People don't care bout Opie or Stern. They'll lose a few thousand when Stern goes like they did when Anthony left but the vast majority won't care enough.
5 VladiRad 2015-05-15
No they won't. Anthony fucked up something that was beneficial to him, not the other way around. That's just the way it is. They need Howard waaaay more, but they don't even need Howard. They have truckloads of money to constantly throw at recognizable names. All they need is car radios and shit on their satellite.
O&A found the lottery in Sirius. The whole thing on Sirius' end was "you guys have 30 year old fans here's millions of dollars". O&A have never had leverage against the company, Sirius is basically just their sugar daddy. "Take the money or leave, it won't make a noticeable difference to us." Anthony permanently fucked himself out of the sweetest gig imaginable, they won't be kicking his door down to insist they do him another favor.
1 opieisdumb 2015-05-15
Yup. I love these clowns think ant will be begged to go back on sxm
-1 jimcozad 2015-05-15
I dont think they have truckloads, whats your source on these truckloads?
4 fart_yourself_awake 2015-05-15
Yooo they had a couple hundred (maybe thousand) people cancel when ant left. They have a much bigger problem when howard leaves then wondering what Ant is doing.
4 gsbird1065 2015-05-15
Every word of that is idiotic.
2 pearlinspector 2015-05-15
Mark my words: Anthony is never getting rehired by Sirius. Ever. No matter what. Under no circumstances. They won't even let him in the BUILDING. Don't be a sucker. And don't believe Jimmy when he says he's waiting for Anthony to come back. It's NOT going to happen. Mods, you can ban my account the day Anthony is a host on Sirius.

Howard not re-signing is like Opie not re-signing. Lies.
1 jhohcable 2015-05-15
I would prefer by "panic" that means the execs run down the hall in the middle of the morning just shooting everyone while screaming and babbling incoherently while pissing themselves.
But yeah it'll probably just mean they'll try to get Ant back.

Your dreaming.
In the latest financial quarter Sirius XM made $106M in profit and had $482M cash on hand. Business is very good. It is the opposite of panic. Cars with satellite radio are selling and people are buying subscriptions, mostly without regard to Howard, Opie or Anthony.
I'd be surprised if 1 subscriber in 100 gives a hoot about the O&J/O&A drama. They're busy listing to baseball, hockey, news, news talk, NPR, music channels, sports talk, weather...other talk shows. Whatever their personal interest is.
Anthony is never coming back; XM doesn’t need him and there is no upside for for hiring him, only potential trouble.

There's no way Howard doesn't re-sign. What's he going to do, sit at home and play with his wife's pussies? We all know he's not interested in that.
1 paulrnelson 2015-05-15
Sirius has hundreds of other boring channels for people to listen to. They don't care. People act as if the only thing on sirius is O&J and Stern. Ever since they bought out their only competition, they don't need a big name. Not until more cars are internet-connected at least.
1 Joemomma101 2015-05-15
Sirius fired Anthony, so Opie could potentially be Howard's replacement... Just do some critical thinking. Do you think Sirius would ever allow Opie and Anthony show to be their top show? A guy who goes on racist rants all the time like that. Although I personally enjoy those rants very much, it would be horrible for the companies image. That's why they fired Ant. They are trying to make Opie's show more mainstream, and less edgy. That's why Opie always says we are taking the show in a different direction.
0 fawkkyall 2015-05-15
O and A would never get too big with anthony talking about race like he did, funny ass show but its just the reality
-1 plasticpaddy84 2015-05-15
This will not happen. But SXM is deff in trouble after Stern leaves.
-1 Dugoutdougv5 2015-05-15
Anthony will be lucky to be alive in 6 months with the way he is going
