I see where your going with this, but even the last 6 months Ant was there it was getting stale. Not sure if it was complacency, or something needed to happen to shake things up.

If Ant did go back it probably would be great for awhile, but never what it was.

Agreed. I noticed that they've avoided a lot of the things that infuriated me about the show in 2014.

In particular, they've avoided watching Youtube for hours at a time.

But people can sit at home and play along! I hated visual bits on the show, I listened with my sister once and she said "they're playing YouTube clips on the radio?"

Some of the best bits of all time have come from them watching video clips and commenting on them. 2girls1cup, Trainables, My Baby Is Black, the Russ Meyer movies, all the different PSAs over the years, etc. It was an essential part of the show for some of the best years of the show.

But it also becomes a crutch.

The trick is to do it sporadically. By 2014 they'd reached a point where they'd spend an hour or even two hours watching Youtube, every day.

They also ruined the bit by being unprepared; you could tell that they were often struggling to come up with commentary.

Tosh.0 is a great example of how to do this properly; it works if you come prepared.

Tosh.o is a 30 minute prerecord end show with a staff of writers. A little different

OpieRadio has a staff of writers.

Yeah, I guess you're right in a way, but I never actually listened to the show on the radio, I got into it through YouTube where people uploaded the clips that they were talking about with them talking over it. I couldn't imagine listening tothem with no context of what they were talking about, it would annoy me.

The show really was sucking the last year or so before the firing. I'm still glad it happened and never want a reunion.

Jackass, those two despise one another. They've got two decades worth of unresolved issues that prevent them from even communicating with one another on the most basic levels. There's no way they're ever going to work together again, especially now that their mutual antipathy is a matter of record.

I would say, I would pay extra to bring back Anthony, write a fuckton of letters, and send emails, sign petitions....etc...

Then steal the shit out of the show because SXM is shit.

I think he's still too toxic for SiriusXM.

O and A is a superior product over our current options.

Like many other people here are saying, even back in 2013 and 2014, I thought O&A was on the decline anyway with how repetitive and stale it had become. Patrice's death, Steve C's death, the whole Danny firing and other big events for the show really had a negative impact.

I'll give you Patrice, but Steve and Danny?

Looking back, Danny was a fun villain to hate. When Kenny destroyed him on air during that fitness challenge was a great fucking moment.

Steve C. was a great punching bag. RIP that wonderful, closeted bear.

Why not just find something new? The last couple of years of O&A, although better than these new shows, were still pretty tired. If they got back it's not like they would set the world on fire

SXM could not be happier OA is dead. they are concerned with getting major sponors and deals with car companies.

trust me, they are glad they got rid of us (the pest fans) and Opie is making sloppy soccer dad liquid feces for raqio.

It's the same reason a big studio is more likely to spend a giant amount of money on some dumb adam sandler film and not some really great/weird script that is more of a chance and smaller demo.

Podcasts are the only places to find real audio entertainment.
