I can't wait for Opie to not be able to deliver jokes given to him on joke cards.
23 2015-05-13 by sanfrancisco69er
Opie goes most entire shows without cracking a joke, and his only attempts at humor are dropping into a lower voice every once in a while, so when he is handed joke cards(which they alluded to today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ompp4Rm_IFA#t=13m05s)((btw, everything they say, especially Jim, about mike francesa could be applied to Opie)) it'll be extremely obvious it was handed to him and will never fit naturally into conversations. He will also destroy them with momentum-killing "ummm"'s and a timing/cadence that is reverse magnetism to joke-telling, and I can't wait to hear his failures.

It's gonna be as smooth as when Sam would hand them to Bobo. (Which always made me laugh) "Patty, if you breathe into that mic one more time, I'm gonna bite your clit owff."

Only when jugs ahoy mispronounces words and fucks up the delivery we will now get polite correction, silence, then quickly move on. Hilarious!

We need to get that on a coffee mug brotha man
5 cabaretcabaret 2015-05-13
Fuck off... SPADE
3 Weirdfellas 2015-05-13
Was that the same one?? Holy shit that was funny. Nothing made me laugh harder than Sam doing that, or the boys getting him to do something awful/loud in his house or in public. I'd laugh so hard my fucking solar plexus hurt.
I met Bobo once and told him he was responsible for some of the hardest laughs of my life, it registered absolutely zero with him. He just started talking about the Mets again. God I hate him.
1 panjshirlion 2015-05-13
That one was when they had Patrice and Colin in and brought some Australian chick in to pretend to be Bobo's online girlfriend and break his heart.
2 Weirdfellas 2015-05-13
Oh, yeah. BE RESPECTFUL TO MY GIRLFRIEND, AWRITE??
3 panjshirlion 2015-05-13
One of my favorite moments was when Bobo got high on the laughter and tried an original line. It naturally bombed, and Jimmy suggested that "a certain mulatto hatemonger" must have left the room.
3 thrillated 2015-05-13
Bobo has better delivery.
2 Bret16 2015-05-13
There a clip of that?
3 Weirdfellas 2015-05-13
Probably, somewhere. I just remember almost everything Sam handed him was progressively funnier/more rotten, and Bobo could not contain his glee with each one. It was one of the hardest times I've ever laughed at that young man. Bobo is a funny fucker.

Was it when the magician was in?
2 scorchingcaseOderpes 2015-05-13
''if you wanna see magic a trick, watch my dick get hard''
-yes, I believe Colin was in that day as well.
11 KingTutsstache 2015-05-13
The saddest thing will be him waiting for a joke. The Brilliance of Jimmy is his jokes are delivered instantly. Too wait to receive a joke would just kill what classic O&A was about.
2 monkdick 2015-05-13
Also the follow up. Even if he is able to read and deliver the joke, that will be it. There won't be any back and forth for Opie to follow up with. When Stern is handed notes and jokes he can run with them. He's given an idea and heads in that direction and makes it even funnier. Something tits will never be able to do.
2 scorchingcaseOderpes 2015-05-13
ugh, yes!! Coupled with the fact that Jimmy has to coddle that narcissistic nitwit.

"Hold on HOLD ON HOLD ON -- I'm about to have a good one, I see the pen moving."

Best example of Opie "reading" lines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYWn55bMKlc
25 ib--90 2015-05-13
''Worldstar got a nigga, ribs hurting TODAY!!''
Fucking moron
18 panjshirlion 2015-05-13
This truly hurts me to listen to. He literally has no sense of how sentences are structured at all. It's like he just reads each word individually, immediately forgets the context, and hopes it all added up to a coherent thought.
15 Jelhead 2015-05-13
Everyone kills reading these lines. Pause for Greggshells to read one. Rinse. Repeat.
He's a humor black hole
12 Jelhead 2015-05-13
Opie reads a line someone already read because he doesn't listen. silence
Sam reads a repeat. "Listen asshole, you ruined the bit."
8 RearNakedGrope 2015-05-13
He even put on an accent of how he thinks a "brotha" talks when delivering those lines, his inner racist coming out.
3 VladiRad 2015-05-13
It's incredible that someone could ruin that segment. I remember reading the comments section right after the video was posted, and it was a goldmine. But Opie picks the worst ones and reads them in a fragmented wigger voice. Horrific.
1 DapperDan0979 2015-05-13
He casually slips in that they "took one of his too"...
11 highflyin 2015-05-13
Just listen to any live read or when he reads a news article. That's the quality of jokes we'll get. Mispronounced and stuttered.
8 CUNTYMOM 2015-05-13
no different then when he would use peoples jokes on pal talk, it was painfully obvious.
6 billsinthefridge 2015-05-13
Wow. I wonder if he'll actually be using Letterman's index card system.
4 Lilcumia 2015-05-13
Lol Opie was pissed when people asked if they were writers after Sirius said they would be writers. He never said what they would be doing though. Simply "Producer" is Erock type vaguery. Shout out to that nigga
He mentioned the shit came from twitter. I thought Ope blocked the haters.
2 Crigger540 2015-05-13
Opie has his own private Prep Burger service now.
4 BrockerArtworks 2015-05-13
If they're not writing jokes, what are they doing? It doesnt make sense.
5 sanfrancisco69er 2015-05-13
Yeah he said they aren't writing for him and he doesn't need writers but a) they are writers and b) he does need writers
1 Moxson4 2015-05-13
We'll know soon enough if his jokes are written. If he's all of the sudden the funniest guy in the room, then I think we'll have our answer!
4 kevin121312 2015-05-13
They're writing jokes, but Opie is lying. They probably have access to his twitter and will be posting on there too.
2 Moxson4 2015-05-13
Fucking Eh! Great call on the Twitter Line. They probably will take over his Twitter. My only question is do the brothers get paid extra since they have to memorize all the t-shirt sizes and different clever sayings so they can advertise them?
3 acorsicanpimp 2015-05-13
Who thinks Opie would have been on radio this long without Ant? Were writers ever brought in before?
4 kevin121312 2015-05-13
Hey, he "did his 20 years" If it weren't for Ant, Opie would be be doing contests like 'Eat a pound of lo mein at MamaSans and win an Opie and Brother Wease show t-shirt.
2 TobyTheRobot 2015-05-13
*Wease and Opie, you mean. Maybe Wease and the Opester; it flows better.
(Gravelly male voice:) "Y-y-y-you're listening to Wease and the Opester!"
*Laser "pew pew" sound effects*
(Sultry female voice:) "Wease and the Opester..."
(Gravelly male voice:) "On 95.5 WBAB."
1 kevin121312 2015-05-13
lol
1 thebudgetgamer 2015-05-13
That's a good point but the flipside is would Anthony still be in a crawl space somewhere without Opie?
3 LightBulbExpert 2015-05-13
LOUIE BEANZZ
3 kevin121312 2015-05-13
HOLD ON, HOOOOOOOLD ON Jimmy. We have a line from Justin. Justin, your mic isn't on...ok, that's better. Queue a bombarooo
3 blkout180 2015-05-13
HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON I've got the line, I've got the line... got the line... uhh hold on... I just thought of this.. so maybe she.. no wait, maybe she should.. oh that says, ok yeah ...
2 snoopkhat 2015-05-13
Tits has been repeating other peoples jokes for 20 years,he'll be fine.
2 TrackSuitVos 2015-05-13
I can't wait for Jimmy to become more irritated with this nonsense.
2 Moxson4 2015-05-13
Great new topic! I agree with you that he will butcher the shit out of written jokes. And if he does nail the joke, you'll know it because he'll figure out a way to repeat it at least 2 more times. The Stangel a Brothers definitely have their work cut out for them.
1 cavemansback 2015-05-13
So now Opie will be paying the Stengal brothers to write jokes for him to appear funny. He sucks more than Mike Francesca.
1 astrozombie222 2015-05-13
This is some pretty serious meta-comedy. Maybe SXM are geniuses and we're the mooks.
-8 thebudgetgamer 2015-05-13
While you listen to the show.
3 OpiesBreasts 2015-05-13
Yup....it can almost be entertaining to hear what a fucking idiot Opie is. But do you actually think Opie has talent?
-1 thebudgetgamer 2015-05-13
I think he knows radio but is not a funny person, he never had to be.
6 OpiesBreasts 2015-05-13
If he knew radio, the show would not be the abortion it has become since Anthony left. That is his problem....he never had to be funny or have talent, he was riding on Anthony.
The show is not just boring right now, which would be expecting if he simply lacked humor. But he is working alongside a talented comic, yet he still shits all over any type of funny that is happening. His stammering, sniffing, and idiocy ruin the show.
-6 thebudgetgamer 2015-05-13
At least he keeps trying (as uncomfortable as it can be at times) unlike the other guy who's show prep seems to consist of reading stormfront and googeling black crime rates.
4 OpiesBreasts 2015-05-13
Meh....it has not even been a year for Anthony. Anthony is doing a solo show, with occasional guests, so I am willing to cut some slack as far as not being all it could be.
With Tits, he still has all the same equipment, platform, JIMMY!!, and routine comedic guests for the same amount of time and the show is still pure shit. I would say that Anthonys show is more creative and entertaining. Typical idiotic comment is that its all racial rants....but when I do listen it is pretty benign. Maybe ketchup and kid talk is more suitable for some though.
There is ZERO humor from Opie and Jim.
2 Crigger540 2015-05-13
That's my main issue - Opie has made Jim unfunny
2 OpiesBreasts 2015-05-13
It really is painful to listen to. Chip (wassat?) is the easiest example....you will hear him do the character, and it literally gets zero response from Opie. Its even more obvious with uncle paul....and his humor in general. Opie just does not get it.
0 thebudgetgamer 2015-05-13
I get it you'll never like the guy and I'm not gonna try to make you, personal taste and what not. Carry on. I guess I just don't have as much emotions for this thing as you do.
3 monkdick 2015-05-13
And you're exactly the type of listener they're looking for. Enjoy the show.
0 thebudgetgamer 2015-05-13
One that doesn't take super serious? Thank you I will.
2 OpiesBreasts 2015-05-13
I would not mind the asshole if was actually funny or had any self awareness. Do you really get any type of entertainment form the current show?
I will even give that it is better than the majority of FM radio morning shows, but it still fucking sucks compared to what it was or what it could be.
1 thebudgetgamer 2015-05-13
I get it and understand where you're coming from. I feel the same at time, but it's hard when you lose one of the greatest talents in radio history. I tend to cut them more slack than I would any other show because of all the years of funny. Kind of like post Beatles albums.
0 loabaron 2015-05-13
what does this even mean "knows radio"?
explain yourself without rehashing played out, trite, meaningless old cliches that you heard from someone else.
