Gentlemen, We know you frequently read this subreddit as you have mentioned on the show before.
Putting the issues the fan community has aside with Mr. Hughes, I must ask you a true question.
What really happened with Steve? Was he forced out?
I know that they fired Fez but allowed him to "retire"; why not the same for ol' Steve?

Management wanted to save money and axe a salary; Opie and Anthony both disliked Steve and didn't try to save him. Easy.
I'd also like to hear the source for your "inside scoop" about Fez.

Sam Roberts let it slip out on Legion of Skanks. It was overlooked by many but evident it was the truth.

I don't think the whole truth with Fez has been (or ever will be) aired out. I think there was definitely some of Ron telling management that he was sick of working with Fez.

I find it more likely that it was a slip of the tongue between "firing" and "retiring", especially since they had just been discussing developments at SXM since Anthony's firing. Whatever was going on behind the scenes between Ron and management, I doubt Sam had any access to it. Sam kept calling O&J "Opie and Anthony" for months after the firing; I doubt it means that Anthony was secretly working at SXM the whole time.
I hate when people jump on little slips like that as though they're these subconscious admissions of the REAL STORY, like when Benazir Bhutto misspoke about Bin Laden being dead in 2007 and the Alex Jonesisphere went apeshit.

I think it was an unintentional slip up too, but I could understand Fez getting bothered and annoyed about it though.

Sam was a major factor in steve getting fired, constantly undermining with smart ass cuntiness.

I can't think of anyone on the staff who liked Steve much. The staff fights I can remember had Erock, Sam, Danny, and Travis all aligned against Steve. Sam is just the best shit-talker between them.
If anything, the biggest factor behind his firing was when he burned his bridge with Opie and Anthony personally by charging them for their old material (or whatever that whole mess was; I don't think it was ever explained in detail).

i think the amount of material they got off of him can't be matched

Management thought his job was redundant because they had Sam, Travis, Erock and Troy producing the show. This makes sense, since they hired 2 more producers today.

Troy is not tied to the channel though, Troy is tied to Siriusxm. He works on several channels as he has throughout his career there(prior to OA)
Axing Steve to replace with Sam?

I could never figure out what Troy did, but working for sirius and their diverse channel lineup makes lot of sense since he's a 40 year old skateboarding wigger, who likes Hatebreed Drake, EDM music, wears fedoras, is gay, bi and straight, is a DJ, producer, promoter and all round genuine guy.
