I think Opie quickly ran out of songs to pick because he is desperate to seem hip but doesn't actually know anything about music. If I had to pick one song a day I could go decades before I had to turn to someone else for help. It's ridiculous.

I personally love the new direction. I wish it could be a reoccurring theme throughout the day. When big guest come in later in the day, say like your Schwarzeneggers, I'd love to hear a call back and them bring up to Arnie "Hey, by the way, you know we opened the show with this song this morning that our very own employee X selected, what do you think about this?" Then play the song in its entirety for the guest while the selector is standing in studio awaiting their judgement.
