Sam is funnier than Opie, is more intelligent than Opie, understands pop culture, explains things well, knows how to set up a bit, knows when to talk and when to let others talk, can take a joke and doesn't beg for attention. He doesn't feel a compulsive need to let others know when he deserves credit for something.

Ant, Jim and Sam would be the perfect team.

Jim and Sam did the show great despite not relying on comics and having boring-as-hell guests. Sam just seems like he knows how to do radio alot better than Opie does, which isnt saying much, but it's amazing how obvious it is. Eh, even Opie gets some good laughs once in a while. The first time he used "a questionable" got a big laugh from Jim (though unfortunately that reinforced Opie running it into the ground).

I liked the show but was only listening as background noise instead of the full attention I usually gave O&A. The music guests were dull but Jim made me laugh hard when he suggested the person respected a guy who beat his wife to death.

That Mike Judge guy should have starred in The Bridge. He was the worst! Other than that piece of detritus, the show was pretty good today. Listening to Sam, Jimmy, Trav, E-rock, Kenny is like O&A lite.

Sam fan since day 1. He actually tries, and most of the time succeeds, at having chemistry with his cohost. Please note he's not "still working on his chemistry" with Jimmy despite having him on the show regularly for 15 years and as his full time cohost for almost one.

My dream show would be the Ron and Jim Norton show with Sam as 3rd mike (and Chris "Pepper Dicks" Stanley-Bennington, the gay centaur plug queen, chiming in).

I remember one time Sam was obsessively bitching about Nick Cannons radio show for about the fourth day in a row and finally Ant said "I see the problem. You're hate Nick Cannon so much that you obsess over him, even though he's a mutli millionaire with way more going for him than you!"

I couldn't believe it but Sam was completely speechless. He couldn't crack a joke or defend himself or anything. It was a really weird moment, and Olie kept saying Anthony, Anthony, Sam can't take criticism. He's never really been criticised before, and he doesn't know how to handle it. He just sat there breathing weird and he was frozen. Ant really put him in his place which is funny because Sam was always allowed to think that just because he works for a talented show that's above hacky and sucky radio schtick, doesn't automatically mean that makes him above it too. Can you imagine the ass chewing Ant must have gotten after the show from Opie for exposing Sam on the air?

I was a big fan of Judge and hardcore growing up but having him as a guest is just a huge WGAS segment for 99% of the audience that hasn't bailed by now. The documentary also isn't interesting enough to anyone not familiar with Judge

Mike Judge could have been a great guest, but the guy isn't a public figure and his lack of interview experience was painfully obvious. A dude who grew up in the crazy years of New York punk and hardcore, when NY was an all around sketchier place and then later joins an outlaw motorcycle club. This dude has endless stories, but was reluctant to tell any of them. Vinnie Stigma, now there is a fucking guest! Wish they could get that crazy fuck on the show for a better representation of NYHC.

Jim and Opie have been doing radio together for what, 12 years? It's pretty hilarious that after 12 years they still are nowhere near having the on air chemistry that Jim & Sam have.

Amazing how two people hear two completely different things but listen to the same show. I honestly thought today was unbearable, Jasta's first time on the show wasn't boring I just think the energy was sucked out of the room right from the jump this morning. I've been thinking of cancelling my sub because they've been quite boring lately and today show has almost pushed me into doing it. I dont know if it's for nostalgic reasons but I want to like the show, I'm one of the few on here that doesn't mind Opie, yeah he can kill a mood sometimes (you listen to anyone for 4 hours a day for 10+ years and try and I'm sure you'll be annoyed by some of their quirks) but he's not as bad as everyone makes him out to be.

Except Opie's quirks are that he is unintelligent, not funny and he's a pathological liar. Opie's negatives compound on each other and that's why the show was good when he spoke infrequently. In small doses it works.
