Two part question (real): In all their years together, did Anthony ever initiate a rant against management, and has Opie threatened to leave the show or shit on the "idiots down the hall" since July, 2014?

I seem to recall Ant really exploding on Tim Sabean for trying to move them to afternoons. I don't believe I've ever heard him threaten to leave, though.

And it looks like now we know this was really Opie. Love it.

Ants rant about the creative meeting with corporate.
Opie wasn't really in on this anti management rant it was all Ant. He sounded like he was going to bust a blood vessel later on in the video.

@45:00 - the boys begin to smooth things over with E-rock. They are labeling him a hero for his actions (he ratted out management).
They start playing hero songs for him - and Anthony makes Jimmy laugh hysterically.

Thank you for your service.
Holy shit is Opie 'all in' with the music bit and not realise Ant and Jim are sarcastic? He had no idea their conversation took place. Sam's good at the sarcastic thing too. They just naturally work because they are friends. Opie doesn't have that real connection with anyone on the show. He is a loner in high school who tries to have a connection instead of just having one naturally. That is the rift.

If management is giving him (and the show) what he wants, why would he complain?
Remember, their on-air rants, while being great radio, were usually pumped-up for the air; it was all a bit they did to forge a 'rebellious' image the rubes in the audience (look in the mirror, folks) could 'identify' with.
As usual, O&A were doing what radio hosts these days are expected to do; they were simply better at it than anyone.
